Hmm, where to start.
Well, I guess I can start off by saying that I graduated from high school back on Sunday, with high honors. Yay me. ![]()
The all-night party afterwards kicked butt. It opened up with a performance by an amazing impromtu comedy group, followed by a night of card games, game shows, Defender Dome (think moonbounce mixed with dodgeball), obstacle courses, NASCAN (racing on soda can-shaped go-karts), and other awesome stuff to do. Then there were the PRIZES. Sadly I didn't get anything, but people in my senior c-lass got iPod Touches, mini laptops, 19" HDTVs, and even, even, a SNUGGIE. FTW. And then the night (or would it be day by this point?) closed with a hypnotist. I have no idea how that works, it's amazing. o_o
I had a ton of fun during high school, I'mjust going to miss everyone all together in one place... *sigh*
In the fall I'm attending a rather prestigous university (although I really shouldn't give the name - what with me being an advocate of Internet safety, lulz). I suppose I can't wait, but it'll certainly hit me hard...after college I'm planning on service some time in the US Air Force as an officer (perhaps a UAV pilot?) through my college's Air Force ROTC; after that I might take up a position in the FBI. I will be studying in computer sciences, and a few people I know who have retired from the FBI says "that's what they're looking for" and they'd be more than happy to write up letters of recommendation for me. ![]()
So yah, E3. I'm likin' all the "hardcore" stuff Nintendo is finally pulling out (i.e. Zelda: Spirit Tracks, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 2, new Zelda Wii, Metroid: Other M, etc.) I'd buy that all if my Wii were fixed...*sigh*
As for Sony, eh. I caught a glimpse of the new handheld Star Wars Battlefront game in their intro but it was never brought up. Strange. Not much else caught my attention. Not interested in PSP Go because of the UMD-less-ness of it. 16GB flash memory sounds nice, but...I likes my UMDs.
Microsoft caught my attention with a lot of things.
Halo 3: ODST is a must-buy for me (OBVIOUSLY), so will Halo: Reach be. Shadow Complex is like "What if Metroidvania were on the 360?" and looks totally awesome to me. Left 4 Dead 2 looks great, but I want to own and beat the first Left 4 Dead before getting the first one. *sigh*
Oh, and Project Natal? Blew me away. I really want to see what they can really pull off with that. I read somewhere that they got Burnout Paradise working with Natal, although unfortunately Paradise hasn't been too good to me lately. Sure, the Legendary Cars are fun to play around in, but the Stunt Runs are most definitely not. Argh.
But back to Natal. I'm really glad that it opens up possibilities for non-gamers such as my girlfriend and family to enjoy video gamin--WAIT A MINUTE. Wasn't the Wii supposed to do this?
It would have...had my Wii be working. argh. o_o
Maybe one of these days I can actually call Nintendo and see what I need to do to get that thing fixed.
BUT ANYWAY. I'm excited for Natal regardless and I can't wait to see some of the crazy things they can do.
[Editor's Note: my girlfriend and I have been together for over 15 months. Go us!
)
Seeing as Batman: Arkham Asylum was (however unfortunately) delayed, it seems like I can pull the funds together for the collector's edition by the time it comes out, so I'm DEFINITELY going for that.
I might pick up the Ghostbusters game ifI can scrap up some monies for that too. The Halo 3: ODST "collector's pack" is a slightly higher priority, seeing as it brings in another controller for me.
On the DLC side, I think I'll be buying a bunch of DLC for Oblivion and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts; unless Marvel vs. Capcom 2 turns out to be 800pts (which I highly doubt). I haven't actually bought anything yet, I have 960pts, so if anyone wants to make any suggestions, do so now!!!
Xbox Live and my Internet connection are actually being friendly now, so lately I've actually been able to play Halo 3 on Live, and it's AMAZING. All my local friends think I'm crazy to still be playing Halo, but I just love it.
I'm also really enjoying Star Trek Legacy. I ended up with a third copy from GameStop for some odd reason, so I'll be giving that one to my friend.
Also been playing a bit of Duke Nukem 3D every now and then. Speaking of which, while cleaning out the garage, I actually uncovered an original PC copy of Duke Nukem 3D. The disc is a bit scratched up, but I'm hoping it'll work and just be a total geek about it. I'm pretty proud of my finding. ![]()
Perfect Dark Zero is shockingly fun, unfortunately none of my friends like it, so it looks like I get to be playing it all alone. Oh well.
Huh. I think it seems like that's all for now...
