1. Career: Ty Lee joined a traveling circus (air nomad), and was doing a high wire act. Seems like a perfect job for an airbender. (Ty Lee did say the circus was her calling. Could this be her airbender traits at work, calling her to a nomadic life?)
2. Fighting: Look at Ty Lee's fighting. She incapacitates her opponents by closing their chi gates or something like that. It seems like a very peaceful form of fighting, no one is harmed from her attacks. The fire nation is not known for their non-lethal ways. (As Jeong Jeong said, fire can only burn and destroy.) Airbenders are known for their peaceful ways, and would avoid killing an enemy.
3. Skillz: Ty Lee is very good at jumping, flipping, etc. She could get these powers from her airbender heritage, even if she doesn't use them consciously. Air nomads were naturally quick, light, and hot. (Yes all airbenders are naturally sexy. Ask Aang)
4. Personality: She is very upbeat and perky, much like Aang and other airbenders compared to the psychotic or emo fire nation. She's free spirited and carefree despite being in a war, much like Aang when he's not full of Aangst. (And even AZULA can't beat that out of her.)
5. Spirit: It has been mentioned she can see people's "auras". I highly doubt a firebender would have this kind of power, but an airbender having makes sense. Airbenders are said to be very spiritual and whatnot, which could explain her odd power. (Or she could be a member of the Hyuuga clan.) *Prepares to be stoned for Narutard joke.*
6. Miscellaneous: And all the other things that are cool little tidbits. Her eyes are grey like the majority of airbender (including Aang), while the fire nation's eyes are usually gold. Remember the female playing Aang in the EIP? Overanalyzing, or foreshadowing of a female airbender in the show?
How this fits into the show: Bryke will need to address the fate of the airbenderss in the show. I have already given my reasons for believing there are still living airbenders in hiding, and having Ty Lee be an airbender would be a perfect way to introduce that. (Much better than some random airbender revealing this all to Aang after the finale.) Ty Lee's family is still a mystery in the show, all we really know is she has a lot of sisters. They could all be airbenders (Score for Aang), or the airbender genes could be so mixed only Ty Lee has these powers. (She would be like 1/4 or 1/8 air nomad anyway.) I have a feeling her great-grandparents were air nomads that went into hiding when all heack broke lose, and over time their children intermarried with the fire nation.
So Ty Lee is an airbender. If I'm right we should know in the next two days. And if I'm right this will be the best prediction in Avatar history (not to mention a twist that would shock M Night Shyamalan himself.)

Two of my top movies so far in 2008.
Sweeney Todd was surprisingly good. Who knew a musical about a murderous barber would be so awesome? The blood was EVERYWHERE, but that's not what made it amazing. The fact that they could sing about eating people was epic. Some very intense moments when he is getting ready to kill people. Honestly, at the beginning I was worried about them singing in all of it. But it just flows so well and the songs were so good, definetly buying the album. Johnny Depp and Tim Buton have earned themselves a lifelong fan.
Onto Cloverfield. Amazing movie. You would think the movie revolves around the monster attacking the city, but it doesn't. It's all about our little group of people surviving the attack, which fits the handheld camera view perfectly. It adds a unique perspective on the wholedoomsday thing.I saw enough of the monster to satisfy me, and the action scenes were intense. Apperently the camera view makes alot of people sick. (Wimps) It's probably the shaking plus the intense scenes that. I'm not sure what the problem is, I get carsick and seasick all the time, but I was fine throughout the whole thing. It also has some humor. Man I love that HUD (cameraman)
Two great movies and I recommend them both. Can't wait for the Star Treck movie. (December 2008

5. We haven't seen or heard anything about her family. We have about everyother main characters but hers. She may or my not be aware that she is an airbender. She may have been adopted or her parents could also be airbender (although it seems unlikely as they are supposed to be high up in the fire nation).
