I've noticed this summer, since the 08" season premiere of No Reservations (the agony & ecstaticacy of Mr.Chef Bourdain) has slipped, compared to the previous glory years.

Bourdain is very interested in Asia, as time has gone by we've seen why. He has found his retirement haven in Singapore I believe. The food, culture, & hardships are unknown. Bourdain is revealing to us a special part of the world, blighted & overshadowed by the West in the last couple of centuries. Their traditions & seemingly private greatness should be paid attention to. The 21st century sees China, Japan, & the rest of Asia as a growing threat(economically & politically). Instead, the East should be our Friend & working partner. They have the same worth ethic as America & they love us, though they sometimes think we are stubborn & silly. We could also try to eat & take care of our health like them.

See! Bourdain has us hooked on Asia. He is digressing & loosing his mojo. He is getting lost in each episode & is forfitting his originality. What's the point? Each episode is like a trip, man. ^_^ The magic is lost because he is not directed & therefore isn't directing us very well as an audience. He needs to visit more varied places. Asia needs to be given a rest, other parts of the world need to be presented & explored. With a new place means he is less on auto-pilot. It is a dog& pony show as he calls it, his television show. But now it is not a laughing matter. He needs to get back to his roots, where the show started in its first two seasons.

Serbia, Austria, Chicago ...I don't know where next. But I don't think his ratings or the reservations viewers are making to watch will last if Bourdain continues as he is. He is being mediocre & he is better than this. Way better!

I recently heard that Bravo channel is finished with the landmark makeover show Queer Eye, for the Straight Guy." My question is why? This isn't much of a blog post, except I do express my disagreement with the acancelation of a show I used to watch and which I believe should not be cancelled. I wish for explanations, since I haven't been up to date with the show since 2004.
