There's nothing more depressing than realizing the most promising guy you've met in years by now is probably dating a woman who is twice his age instead of you.

Well, there are possibly a few things more depressing. But I'm having trouble coming up with any just now.

I can give you AS depressing, but not more. Feel better.

Aw, sorry about that. Love problems are always depressingly frustrating...

That he's dating a man? Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it means you will never have a chance...

Don't worry, your time will come. However, I am sorry that you are felling down.

... cheer up, I find that most of the time it's better to have a friend than it is to have a lover.

I'm sorry about that, buddy. On the plus side, you could find a better man, who doesn't dig old chicks.

What a jerk.

You want something more depressing? Okay, what if the guy who digs older girls was dating your mother!

Damn it! I was about to say that Iga but you got in before me. Err. If he was interested in your dad, I guess that would be worse.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I just hit 30. The last couple of gatherings I've been to, I've had people keep asking when I'm going to get another woman, as I haven't had a girlfriend for almost a year. When the right one freaking comes along already! I'm not going to change who I am or go hang out places I don't like just to find someone. And you shouldn't either.

Obviously he's not as promising as he seemed. Move on to better pastures; there are lots of fish in the sea, and plenty more cliches I can draw on to encourage you to find a new man. Or get a dog, they're more faithful, understanding, and always do exactly as they're told.

I am also sorry to hear that. I know it may be hard, but you just have to try and move forward and find another good guy
Posted Jan 8, 2009 7:00 am PT
I'm sorry to hear about that.

Twice his age? Sounds like she could drop dead tomorrow, and that's when you'll swoop in to comfort him...

No sorry, that's wrong I feel for you and I hope you'll be able to leave this behind you soon. Just to try to focus on the bright spots in life, like... ehm, the fact that you know how to spell "blah", that's a new word for me >.>

Yeah, it sucks. Hopefully things will get better for you, and you never know, there may be someone you'll find soon who is even more promising

How about not only not being of interest to one person, but also capturing the interest of someone you are not planning to begin a relationship with, and everyone around you assumes you're either with or going to end up with that later person shortly? Oh yeah, and the three of you are friends, so trying anything drastic would likely just end up hurting somebody.

Thanks for the wellwishes all, I'm a little bummed.

HB - you are just full of good ideas *evil laugh*

I could give you my number, that would cheer you up? XD

But in all seriousness, sorry to hear that. Look on the bright side though, she'll be a geriatric soon!

There are plenty more fish in the sea, except for tuna; they're being over-fished to extinction. Frankly, however, I'd be disgusted with you if you were planning to date tuna anyway.
