Right! I better get this out of the way or else I won't find an opening to do this.
The readers have spoken, and the votes have been counted!
If are curious to know, please go here for the results which are followed after the long feature. I do suggest that you at least look at what I have commissioned, traded, and requested over the years I've been on deviantART. A few gifts are thrown into the mix as well. ![]()
Anyway, thanks for reading this short blog. I'll be sure to have maybe a video blog as to what has been going on in my life. That may happen when I have free time during the Thanksgiving break.
Until next time! ![]()
That's right!
I have been on deviantART for three years now, and I'm thinking of doing a small reader's choice voting. In case you guys don't know where to find the gallery, follow the hyperlink provided. At this point, you'll see a journal of my celebrating my third year on DA. Feel free to read it though. Anyway, I would like for you to select five of your favorite deviations of mine from my gallery, and then I'll create a top five reader's choice list in my next blog along with an artist feature of the works that I've requested, traded, and commissioned. ![]()
Thanks for reading and get to voting! ![]()

Before I go any further, how many of you knew that a Prince of Persia movie was in the works? Anyone? I, for one, knew about it for a very long time. G4 had a program called Icons (later into Game Makers), and they did a feature on Prince of Persia around the time when The Sands of Time was released. Near the very end, I remember hearing the creator, Jordan Mechnar, mention about a possible movie being produced by Pirates of the Caribbean's Jerry Bruckheimer. Well, the movie is expected to be released this coming summer, and here is the trailer of it.
After seeing the trailer, I still had my doubts. I mean there are so many things that can go wrong even if they put a lot of consideration into making a good video game based movie. Now I know a lot of you are probably complaining that this is going to be another money making movie for Disney, and I completely understand that. Ever wonder why the company relies on Pixar so much?
From my point-of-view, this looks like it's going to be on the level of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and this is what really concerns me. There are going to be a lot of high expectations for this movie unlike the first Pirates movie. Why? Think about it! The filmmakers are working around an existing source material for the Prince of Persia whereas the Pirates was simply based on a Disney ride and had to have an original story. At least this movie isn't directed by Uwe Boll or Michael Bay for the matter.
I know this is early to say, but I want to share my predictions on how the movie will do once it's released. Like any other summer movie, this is a sure blockbuster movie event. Depending on the reviews, there are going to be plenty of mixed opinions, and it'll contain critics of either loving or hating it. As for everyone else, I can guarantee there will be a lot of people saying that either the game was much better or the movie was better. Of course you'll have your extreme fangirls going berserk over Jake Gyllenhaal as Prince Dastan (he has a name?!) along with fanboys on Gemma Arterton as the Prince's love interest (her name's not Farrah in this one). Then, there will be the crowd that will watch the movie and not play the game which is going to bring a lot of issues when it comes to giving their opinions. Again, this can go either way on whether or not they are interested in playing the games.
Speaking of which, I do hope that the Disney company is aware that the Sands of Time game trilogy consists of two Mature-rated games. This could add on another headache for many because I wouldn't be surprised if they do intend on making a full blown trilogy like Pirates of the Caribbean ended up doing. If it ever happens, you can expect a lot of content cut out from the latter two games. Otherwise, they'll probably create their own continuation and pretend that those two games never existed. So these are a few things that Disney should take to heart if they ever decide to create a trilogy out of the Prince of Persia movie.
Anyway, this is all I wanted to share. Remember, we all agree to disagree. So feel free to share your thoughts on the subject. And please, nothing overly exasperated.
Thanks for reading!
