Finally, yesterday, March 24, 2007, marks the day I told windows to go screw itself and got acquainted with my Mac. Thank god. I have been on this thing for a long time since it arrived. Why? Well, I think that's what anyone does when they get something new, they explore it, use it like crazy, and fall in love with it. I'm no exception. In fact, this is probably the smartest decision I've made when it comes to technology.
The whole interface took some time to figure out and get used to, but it is so much more streamlined and seems so much better though out than Windows. Folders are easier to find, files can be found in an instant, media support of all types is plentiful, podcast making, movie making, music making, website making, comic making, photo editing, and even software making work amazingly. If you're creative in a sense of having tons of ideas with movies and such, this is the way to go. Sure, Macs are a little more expensive, but they come with so much software already on them that it evens out well. I've been so happy with it so far. I haven't encountered one problem with it yet (by now, I would've had to troubleshoot twice with my Dell) and all the programs work really fast. Plus, I can have tons of windows up at once without any slowdowns occurring. Oh, and I got a couple of widgets and those are simply the coolest. I did get Microsoft Office 2004 with my mac and I have to say that Word is much better on the Mac software since it has so many more options. But hey, I don't hate Windows, nope, I love it for gaming... and the support it has, and that's it. The rest is all better on a Mac. Oh, and the screen is beautiful. The 64-bit screen looks so amazing it's simply awesome. Another thing is that I have twice the deskspace I had, so that's always cool. Other than that, I don't want to overload with this sort of rant over my Mac, so Adios. I'll be on this most of all day. I love it...

PCs Suck Hyper Meta Dragon... Deal with it.

Yeah, HyperMetaDragon don't know what he's talking 'bout.

no i totally agree with hypermeta. I don't understand buying macs. Especially if ur a gamer. Sure it comes with some software thats better than windows but its far from the best stuff out there. If you're serious about photo editing stuff (just one example) you need to go with Adobe anyway. And Mac's are hella expensive, way more expensive than what they're worth. And of course, the games issue. Since your on Gamespot, i'll assume you are a gamer. Mac's don't have any good games for them and the games they do have are a thousand times better on a windows system. If it weren't for the iPod's success, Apple would probably be gone by now. All their software (aside from some phot editing stuff which isn't even close to the best stuff out tehre anyway) is much worse and out of date compared to windows. So, after hearing that, have fun with your imac.

Katosepe- I just read through your post, and I agree with that too. Very well-put.

You all (besides ManOfScience11
do not have any clue of how good Macs and how trashy Windows PCs are. I own both, a ugly bucket to play games and a shiny Mac, which I use for everything else (I do play also games on it, yes I do!). Macs are way more secure and the programs are more professional, thus everything you work out will look awesome. Macs are for people with taste (and with money), everybody else has a normal PC.

You know I actually like both of them. But I don't know, I was really thinking about getting a iMac when I attend college but I'm not sure...

If you say it's great, I trust it is, SkateGame. I just don't know if I would pass up playing games like WoW (which is also on Mac), Battlefield 2, and, on ocassion, CS: Source.

Guys, Macs just aren't good. Sure, the software that comes with Windows isn't good, but that's what Adobe Photoshop, Mozilla Firefox and iTunes are for. McSkombi, you just proved my point. You have a TRASHY Windows and a shiny Mac. If you get a shiny Windows, it will make that Mac look trashy. Macs simply aren't meant for anything. Downloading programs, software, games, and different things are meant for PCs, not Macs. Windows is much more reliable because you don't have to worry about something not being compatible; it always is.

Okay, if you truly read my post, I can make all this stuff easily and with probably more features allowed by a windows. LOL, people trashtalking Macs obviously haven't done their research.

did my post get deleted??? Ok w/e. i have done my research skategame. I have been around computers my entire life and have used both Windows and Mac's. At the risk of sounding braggy, i know a helluva lot about computers. And i know for a fact, I would never buy a mac. I would always buy a windows. MetaDragon made an excellent point about stuff not being compatible with macs. Look at basically any game's official website (games are used only as an example because i have seen this exact question on a game website) and they will always have a FAQ. One of the questions is usually "will you make this game for Mac's" The answer is almost always something to the extent of no because it is not cost effective. This is the resounding thought throughout most of the software world because the majority of people simply don't use mac's. Now you can argue that it's because people don't know what they are talking about but letting all those arguments go, in the end, the person with the most people wins. In the end, that's microsoft. So, the software designers make things compatible for windows computers. Which means more high quality, state of the art software is made for Windows while Mac's tend to get the older stuff (i.e. Microsoft Office 2004...). Sorry. thats simply the way it is.

True, but I value an interface that doesn't make me want to chuck my computer out of my window. I also don't want to worry about downloading this or that without risking a Windows virus. Sure, I know Windows gets much more software and all, but I simply don't want the hassle of learning how each software works differently since I don't have the time for learning the software, but I only have the time for using it. And I find that since most of the software you'll need is made by Apple, it all works in a similar matter. I understand your opinion as you are someone willing to donate your time to learning software and also value your gaming. I simply just want to create stuff such as movies, podcasts, websites, etc. without the hassles of troubleshooting, pouring over manuals and help sections, and all the other stuff that software from 3rd parties create. Again, this is a personal decision. People like you know computers when someone like me only knows a summary of the major specs and all. I was a gamer, now I think I'll stay with my consoles. I was a Windows user, but the interface didn't suit me anymore and gaming wasn't redeemable enough for me. I am a supporter of people being entitled to their opinions, but when they use it to bash something, their opinion is useless to me. But, you haven't bashed anything or anyone, so I think your opinion is one I can accept.

I have a MacBook, and I have to say that I love it. Our other computer is a Windows 2000 and my MacBook is so much more updated. I actually have iTunes! I've nv had iTunes before. There's also iMovie, iPhoto, Dashboard, Photobucket and so much more like you said. I mean, they have a built in camera! What can get better than that?? I mean have you seen that commercial on tv with the two guys, one is a Mac and the other is a PC or something...that commercial totally proves that Macs are so much better than PCs.
