GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con

Those with long memories or stalker-like tendencies may recall 'Blistered Thumbs', where I recorded all the games I completed in 2005. Over the past year I've continued to use the Wish List in a way unintended, plonking down on it the titles I have played to the point of seeing the end credits or unlocking everything. 2006 saw me beat 33 games, four more than last year, though a number of them were shorter titles and I have included Xbox Live Arcade stuff too. Spookily enough, like last year the average score at GameSpot for these titles was 8.2. The 360 became my preferred format over the original Xbox with nine games done, while Nintendo's home consoles, GameCube and Wii, ratcheted up one beaten game on each. To buy all these games would cost you about $1,410 - money well spent, Godfather aside.

2006 FIFA World Cup (Xbox 360)
Amped 3 (Xbox 360)
Assault Heroes (Xbox 360)
Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day (DS)
Contra (Xbox 360)
Dead Rising (Xbox 360)
Dead or Alive 4 (Xbox 360)
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (Xbox)
Exit (PSP)
The Godfather (Xbox)
Guitar Hero (PS2)
Guitar Hero II (PS2)
Kameo: Elements of Power (Xbox 360)
Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (Xbox)
LocoRoco (PSP)
Mario Kart DS (DS)
Me and My Katamari (PSP)
Medal of Honor Heroes (PSP)
Metal Slug 5 (PS2)
New Super Mario Bros. (DS)
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (DS)
Project Gotham Racing 3 (Xbox 360)
Psychonauts (Xbox)
Rayman Raving Rabbids (Wii)
Rockstar Games presents Table Tennis (Xbox 360)
Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)
Sonic Rush (DS)
Super Mario Strikers (GameCube)
Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble (DS)
We Love Katamari (PS2)

how much were those bit generations games?
Posted Jan 3, 2007 6:04 am PT
They were about £13 each from Play-Asia. Dotstream and Orbital were worth that in my opinion, the others not particularly.

Wow, that's quite impressive. I'd guess that I beat around seven or eight games in a year, tops.

Woah that's some hoarde! only played a handful of them myself but the ones i have played on your list were mightily impressive, shows your great taste. No Elite Beat Agents though which is a disappointment *shakes head*

Thats a lot of games. One of my problems is that I don't finish enough games.

Sure, make me look like a lazy bum compared to you!

I kid, I kid

GG - haven't got your Miis yet. Your thing is still greyed out in my address book.

Fish - funnily enough I bought EBA two days ago but won't open it until I, er, beat Ouendan. Ready Steady Go sure is tough!

Shleco what an awesome idea. Its so great that I plan to shamelessly steal this idea and do it as well.

Oh boy, thats a LOOOT of games! Where do you get the time (and money) for all these days ? Also, what are your top 5 picks from these ?

Time - was a student, now job searching, so it gives me some time for them. I know when I was at work and on tight deadlines in university my game playing went out of the window.

As for a top 5 - in no specific order, Phoenix Wright (DS), Shadow of the Colossus (PS2), Psychonauts (Xbox), Dead Rising (Xbox 360) and Guitar Hero (PS2).

Whey hey! Happy to see Ace Attorney in your list. I completed it last night. Took me a while to finally sit down and play the game, but I'm so glad I did now. It really impressed me, especially chapter four and chapter five. A shame Phoenix Wright 2 doesn't seem to build on the DS's capabilities.

Hey mate i can see you have been busy gaming last year, well done for beating your record in 2005. Dead rising is a brilliant game, very impressed how you got through it without restarting. Oh, and by the way the next time we meet on the pitch on the evo'06 live ground, im gonna get some serious revenge. speak to ya soon mate.
