Found this fitting article about some of the reported "jerks" that supposedly browse forums. I think I've seen at least one example of pretty much every category given of each here on Gamespot.
Take a look for yourself: The Jerks of Online Forums.
Or if you're just too lazy to wade through them all, here are some that I have seen numerous times on gamespot: Johnny One-Word, The Signature Dork, Fanboy, Peacekeeper, The Antagonizer, The Sermonator and The FIRST! Guy. There's plenty more such as the Moderator, The Self-Promoter and others... well it kept me entertained for about 5 minutes and I'm sure you could add some more, more suited for Gamespot (The Emblem Whore, amirite?) ![]()
Anyway, not much has been going on gaming-wise. I got another Mass Effect disc because my other kept getting disc read errors, so I managed to finish that off. I've also been playing Gears of War 2 and Company of Heroes, which I have to play in small doses because my pathetic PC can hardly run it so it majorly slows down. ![]()
Adieu
So E3 is nearly finished and I've been immersed in all the content and games that have been shown, but recent news that has caught my eye is Nintendo's announcement of a new black Wii and Red DSi to be released in Japan in the summer. If i hadn't already bought a Wii, I would have much preffered the Black version as it seems to contrast better with the blue disc-slot light.

It surprised me it has taken them this long to release another colour considering there was an abundance of colours shown when the Wii was announced back in 2006 such as Red, Silver and Lime Green. Hopefully more colours will be coming soon.
There will also be some black peripherals released, including a black Wiimote and Nunchuck which aslo look equally cool.
On an alternate note, I just finished a review for Mirror's Edge which you will find here. I'd strongly suggest renting it if you haven't, as I thought it was superb.
Anyway, expect a post-E3 blog soon.
My best memories of E3 has always been staying up most of the night to catch the events and spending most of the day reading up on the latest news and posting in the forums about my delight/shock/disappointment in the latest announcements. I hope this E3 will be no different.
So I haven't wrote a blog in a long time (Aug 30, 2008 5:35 pm to be precise
) and what better way to start again than some brief musings on the biggest gaming event on the calendar: E3. I've been pretty inactive with the whole 'gaming scene' as of late, but from what I have managed to catch up on so far, this E3 should be a good one.
It's all about the sequels for me. Bioshock 2, Modern Warfare 2, Dead Rising 2, Mass Effect 2, Uncharted 2 and Assassin's Creed 2. However, I'll also be looking out for MAG, Infamous, God of War 3 and Batman: Arkham Asylum. I'm sure there is plenty more I haven't found out about, so feel free to suggest any games you are looking forward to seeing and I'll definitely check them out.
With E3 reportedly going back to its 'big' roots and ditching its low-key approach which we have seen the past couple of years, I'm eager to get back to the times with crazy interviews that turn into who can shout the loudest to be heard, reporters running around and the general buzz that surrounds the event.
Yet even before it has started, there has been some controversey reguarding the removal of the chat from the live events - feel free to post your thoughts in the thread posted in Site Enhancements if you have any, of course. ![]()
