First off, FOR SHAME GAMESPOT MANAGEMENT, FOR SHAME!!!
Second, I know I haven't been posting in my blog for a long time, and I'm sorry about that. Consider this my biggest rant yet, condering GS's recent hatred of 3D Castlevania games.
Well, let's look back to an earlier review. Castlevania for the N64 was given a score of 8.4, and was the first 3D Castlevania game. Gamespot had a comment, which reads "Let's just hope this doesn't mark the end of the 2D era of Castlevania games". This is understandable, since the series started off 2D and is part of what made it so famous. After that there was an improvement. While GS admits it was an improvement, they gave it a score of 7.3. Why? Why would they just deny their own words like that and give it a lower score then the original, when they said it was an improvement? The next 3D game is "Lament of Innocence" it was given a score of 7.7, with a comment reading "Lament is a fun, though fairly short and simple, game that marks a promising new beginning for this beloved series". Why is the more recent game rated lower then the previous one? Also understandable, since alot of people prefer classic games over recent ones.
The next, and my personal favourite, 3D Castlevania game is "Curse of Darkness". This one was given a score of 6.7. Now are you seeing a pattern here? As the 3D Castlevania games become better and more advanced, Gamespot rates tem lower. This one introduced helpers called Innocent Devils, which you could command and make them use abilities. There were also C-C-C-COMBO FINISHERS in which you could finish your combos with a special attack. The combo potential was great, according to Gamespot, Combos=Fun. So why did they rate this lower then the others?
Last, and according to Gamespot, the least, is Judgement. The most recent 3d Castlevania game and an improvement of the Power Stone series (They gave Power Stone 2 a rating of 8, btw) and a nice change in genre. So, what was wrong with it? According to Gamespot, it was... 1: "The characters are annoying". Complete bollocks. Look at Brawl... Ice Climbers, Kirby and Peach are all annoying characters (Even though Kirby is so awesome, alot of people don't care). However, GS never said anything about that. 2: "The camera is awkward". So was Sonic Unleashed's camera. You couldn't control the camera... IN A SONIC GAME. NOT EVEN IN THE WEREHOG LEVELS. However, they gave the Wii version a score of 7.0, but the XBOX360 version a score of 3.5... THIS IS A FIGHTING GAME. I'm pretty sure you couldn't control the camera in Power Stone 2. Know why? YOU DIDN'T NEED TO. It's the same with this game.
3: "The characters are too similar". *Looks at Power Stone 2, and it's rating of 8* That didn't seem to worry you in Power Stone 2.
4: "The game is disappointing". Hey, it did what it said it would. Konami said it was going to be a Castlevania fighting game, and it is. No-one ever said it was going to be the greatest invention since God. 5: "The controls are bad and repetitive". No they're not
Overall, GAMESPOT IS AFRAID OF CHAAAAANGE!!!
I know I shouldn't let GS's scores get to me, but they've gone too far with this one. They first said it was going to be a great game, then they gave it a score of 3. I expected more of them.
So, I give Gamespot's review a score of 3.0...
Later, everybody.

Well, the year certainly has flied by. We've had good games, bad games, anticipated games that turned out to be bad, obscure games that were actually a good addition to the genre and games that I want more then food and water.
Yep, it's been a good year for gamers, chances are that 2009 is gonna be an even better one. Especially with the releases of Wii Punch Out, No More Heroes 2 and the PAL version of Castlevania Judgement.
So I want to take the opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Some people just don't have opinions. Like Sentinus333.
Sentinus333 must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could Sentinus333 possibly have for not rating a single film?
