GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con

As you may already know, I have nearly peed my pants in anticipation for Bionic Commando Rearmed since it was first announced. I'm a sucker for great remakes, and BC is one of my favorite NES games ever. So, I was looking at Metacritic for an idea of what has gone right and wrong with the game, according to several critics, and geez. A ton of them whine about how brutally challenging and punishing the game is, like the original. Huh?!? I just borrowed my friend's working NES so I could play through Bionic Commando all the way, and it took me about an hour without much trouble. It wasn't that tricky, folks. There were some rough parts, but it's very forgiving. I've still been itching to play BCR, and I've got 800 points burning a hole in my account. I need a 360 to play! I'm not buying one right now.

So basically, this is my message to Official Xbox Magazine, GamePro, EuroGamer, and every other whiny critic source that has talked about how "brutally tough" the game is: man up, and shut up. Learn to play some platformers, dudes. Really. It's not that hard. Go play some Ninja Gaiden if you want to talk frustrating. Maybe some Mega Man. Bionic Commando is rather forgiving and never frustrating, so just be quiet, okay? Alright. Saxxy out.

Man up is right.. i played the original and on my first play through i got pretty far.. i did not beat the game, but i got about half way on my first try.. that being said.. i bought Rearmed today and its great.. the thing is on "easy" its pathetic.. I was wondering on difficulty.. i usually pick the easy to get used to the game.. but damn i like never die.. I am almost done

But how can you complain about difficulty.. when the game is pretty simple.. I agree that is something that should not be criticized too hard, maybe put it on an easier difficulty .. along with that Hype, development time, and stupid nitpicks.. I agree with ya all the way!

And they call themselves gamers...

I hate when reviewers bash a game because it is very hard, especially because they also complain when a game is easy. What do they want?

A real gamer doesn't whine when a game is too hard.

I might have to get this game too. I loved the original NES version. I think it is beyond a lot of reviewers to realize that not all platformers need a jump button.

I played the demo and it seems fine to me.

I don't mind very hard games, it's just that I may not play a game with bad controls, which brings to the fact that it makes a game hard.

I'm not saying that Bionic Commando has bad controls, but rather the challenge of the game that makes it interesting. (I never played the game, but I will try to either buying an NES gamepak or if it's available on the Wii, which I'm having problems getting my Wii system online on Vista)

I'm looking forward to the remake of BC pretty soon. When will the game be released? I'll rent the game before my final decision.

And yes, I can't stand critics who criticize or whine on certain games (hence Gamespot's Zelda TP review for Wii and GCN a few years ago)

Critics hate difficult games, which is odd considering they love Ninja Gaiden....

The game isn't that hard, critics just don't know as much as they use to,that's all

Easy there dude Though you're right, when games are too easy they complain and when a game is too hard, the also complain. Geez, critics don't make sense sometimes
