I feel that the new racing games (Forza 2, DiRT, ect) are over looking some very important aspects of gaming. I am of course talking about drifting. Both Forza 2 and DiRT have drifting, but it feels lacking and unsatisfying. Games like Burnout and Ridge Racer, though not great games, have phenomenal drifting. Both allow gamers to drift and regain control without sacrificing speed. In Forza 2 and DiRT, the drifting impacts the speed more than crashing into the wall. Also, all racing games lack the sense of speed. The motion blur does nothing, going at 200 MPH feels more like 50. Next time you are riding in a car, look outside. You will note that every stationary object wiz passed you. Not in video games. In video games, you are lucky if you can get a stationary object to even pass you.
