I had mentioned about week ago that I would type up a review for Rob Zombie's second Halloween film, but I simply can't figure out how to go about describing what I witnessed when I saw it. Simply put, the film is an abomination and easily the very worst the series has to offer. I can't believe that Resurrection has been topped...I really didn't think a Halloween film could get any worse than that. At least Resurrection had those first good 10 minutes or so. This filth is so bad, it's bad. I can usually at least enjoy the initial ride that a Halloween film brings and think of a few good things to comment on. I can't think of a single thing I liked about the movie. I was either indifferent of some things and I hated many. His song selection was annoying and obviously he just thought, hey I like these songs let's see how I can fit them into my movie....and then have them play constantly in the background and show a 100 close ups of the TV playing some of these songs early in the film.
This "re-imagined" series that Zombie brought with his films in 2007 and 2009 is done in my opinion. The only hope I can think of is that he won't be back for Halloween 3-D which was announced a couple of days ago. Some might wonder how I can like the remake of Halloween and flat out despise the sequel to it. Apparently, it is because Zombie was kept at bay for the remake and the reins were loosened only a bit. With full control over the sequel, he was able to inflict a number of atrocities on a franchise that just isn't supposed to be like this. I just don't get how Zombie can claim to be inspired by Carpenter, count the original Halloween among his favorite films, and claim to know what Halloween fans want, and put out trash like this. I've lost all faith in Zombie as a horror director. House of a 1000 Corpses was garbage, The Devil's Rejects was superb but seemingly a fluke, the Halloween remake was decent, and this film was, as I said, an abomination.
0/10, worst in the franchise, Among the worst mainstream horror films of the decade. The trailer for Sorority Row (a remake in name only of an 80's slasher clas*ic, Sorority Row Massacre) was more enjoyable than this.
As for the PS3 news in the title, last night I go to put in surprise suprise, the Halloween remake, and it craps the bed. The yellow light of death...I never heard of this before, but then again, I don't even use the PS3 for gaming all that much. I still only have 2 games after close to 3 years (3 counting Super Stardust HD which I literally just downloaded). But it was my movie player. So now I have no Blu-ray player and compared to my actual upconverting DVD player, the PS3 was a beast. I guess the dust must have killed it, I don't know. So my options are, pay Sony $150 to fix it and wait forever for it (not happening), buy a new one (not happening for a long time), or just deal with it and not have a Blu-ray player for awhile (yep). First the PS3, then Halloween II....I'm probably due for another actual real/serious disappointment soon, it's been a good month and a half since I've had one of those. Hope not.

@LexLas: Is that what it might be? I actually just updated it like two days ago for the first time in a year. I didn't make a connection until you just said that; it is hell of a coincidence otherwise...
