GameSpot Wide's public beta will be ending late next week and we'll be moving the new design over to the main www.gamespot.com site. There's a major batch of changes that will hit the beta site on Tuesday as a part of our regular beta release schedule (past release notes are here).

In addition to many small fixes, two of the significant updates will be:

- major tweaks to the profile index page layout based on user feedback

- addition of the new mini-feed panel into the user box in the top-right of every page. This expanding panel will showcase recent blog and tracked games updates and will also bring back the My Games jump-links pulldown.

Love it but im not sure if this is the time to throw a idea in. It would be cool if the message box would glow when blog or messages from friends are received.

It looks good. Has a lot of potential in the near future. If I have one request for the Beta website; PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE use back the old video game rating system that uses Gameplay, Graphics, Sounds, Value and Tilt as its definitive score. The only good thing about the new system is the merits. That's all. The new system is horrendously bad. Up until now I still use the old system to rate video games cos it really helps explaining what's good or bad about this game without using words.

Oh man! That feature will become one of these we can't live without. It's going to be nice to see your updates from any page eliminating the need for tabbed browsing.
