I can definitely say that Halo 3: ODST will win Game of the Year.
In order to play Halo 3: ODST this weekend, I stood in line for 3 hours 30 minutes at the Halo 3: ODST Troop Transport that is travelling across the country. Everyone who played the game agreed on the following things:
* Halo 3: ODST has absolutely awesome gameplay that is incredibly fun -- the funnest since the original Halo: Combat Evolved.
* Halo 3: ODST has graphics that are far superior to Halo 3. The new graphics engine is awesome. The Visor Mode looks incredible, and it changes the way everything looks. The enemies have much more detail, especially when you zoom in; it allows you to see their faces when sniping and during melee attacks.
* The new weapons are awesome. The Pistol weapon that everyone loved in the original Halo: Combat Evolved is back and it adds an incredible amount of fun to the game with its zoom and power.
* The FireFight Co-Op mode is awesome -- it really is similar to the Horde mode from Gears of War 2, but it gets more intense. There are weapon drops in order to keep the team supplied with weapons and health equipment. The enemies are also getting supplies, and you are attacked by enemy ships. You must work together as a team to win, and it adds a lot of co-op strategy that is very cool.
* Everyone who waited over 3 hours to play Halo 3: ODST was in agreement that the long wait was worth it to play such an amazing game.
I also think it is awesome that Halo 3: ODST comes with a bonus disc that includes every map ever released for Halo 3, including three new maps. Halo 3: ODSTreally is wonderful, and Microsoft did a great job designing the Troop Transport. I took lots of pictures on my cell phone; it really was a special event.

Halo 3: ODST is an absolutely amazing game in every aspect.
The way the maps range from a small size to a very large size is incredible. The FireFight mode is different than the Horde mode in Gears of War 2 in several aspects. You could literally spend many hours playing FireFight because the game is so huge with some of the combat areas. The "scope" of the game is absolutely huge, and that is a great thing to say.
I will be more than happy to play FireFight with you, buddy! We can grab a couple of our friends to play with us, too! Being able to play as a 4-unit group of Shock Troopers is what Co-Op gaming is all about!
So I think I will just pass.....on what's my impression on console FPS.......
Unless Dragon Rising is going to impress me...

1. Arguably the gameplay is a love/hate situation, for people who love the gameplay good for you, you're in for a treat. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same although I give kudos the for the first game for defining run-of-the-mill shooters for what they are today. Without, there would be no Call ofd Duty or Killzone. Of course the second, for bringing a grand multiplayer component.
2. The graphics are miles better this time round, they definitely take advantage of the 360 hardware but there are argubly better looking titles on the PS3 such as Killzone, Resistance 2 and others multi games like Call of Duty and others.

4. Co-Op sounds amazing although I have to say I liked Gears of War 2's horde better seeeing as you get more maps to play on and they were better designed. I never particularly liked Halo 3 maps and seeing as you're only getting only 3 new maps with ODST, I won't be getting it.
5. That's the bummer, i hardly see it achieving game of the year. You're getting a seven-nine hour campaign, THREE new multiplayer maps and some co-op. I'd stick to my copy of Halo 3 or wait for a $20 max price. but not as good as Call of Duty or Killzone
