I got back from Rhode Island yesterday, and the entire day my nose was clogged. I ate lots of good seafood; it was exquisite and delicious! I loved it. I ate shrimp stuffed with crabmeat, mahi mahi, cake, and much much more. But ever since yesterday morning, I haven't been feeling very good. Today, my head is pounding, my eyes are heavy, my nose is very clogged, and I'm sleepy and tired. I've gotten sick from the trip to Rhode Island, and school starts next week! I cannot afford to get sick right now. I have to finish my summer assignments, and start studying them right now, but it will be hard with me being sick. I'm afraid I won't be here as much as I was a few weeks before. Looking at this screen makes my eyes hurt, and I need to go rapid studying. Bye.

My School Schedule Is Here + I Will Not Be Here This Weekend

OMG I got my school schedule today! Its the only reason I ever look forward to the end of August. There are some good things and bad things, though. I start off the day with Study Hall, so I'll be able to relax, rest, or catch up on homework I missed or study. The bad thing about this study hall in the beginning of the day is that I won't be able to catch up on homework I have for other classes. I also have Lunch fifth period, and unfortunately Math could be a bit bad this year. The teacher I have received was also my sister's math teacher years ago, and he apparently hated her! He was also mean and annoying. What a wonderful school year this is going to be...

Anyways, now I'm getting calls back and forth my friends to see if we share any classes together. Its nice to catch up with friends over the summer!

By the way, I won't be here tomorrow, Saturday, or Sunday. I'm going to Rhode Island for a mini-vacation. I still have my summer assignments to finish and study for, so its going to be a packed trip. School starts in nearly two weeks!

EDIT: I just found out we're actually going to Rhode Island.

The Avatar Clubs, Meeting Celebrities in MY Local Area, and My Fan Art

Well, I came back from Kumon this evening and found out that the Avatar clubs were all locked. Its too bad, I actually liked them, but at least none of us got into trouble. We could host it on or blogs, but I highly doubt it will be successful. Not to mention the icons created by Dafoose all went to waste, including my only two. Goodbye ACC, KCC, ITC, and every other club.

Anyways, my sister works in a nearby town at a pharmacy. She called me today and said that there was a movie shooting in hte local area and on the street! She said Susan Sarandon and Pierce Brosnan were acting there for a film called The Greatest. I was so shocked! Nothing like this happens in my county, and I've never seen a celebrity. My sister has seen three: Susan Sarandon and Pierce Brosnan from today, and she saw the youngest Affleck brother at a local Starbucks! She's so lucky! Anyways, I told her to get autographs or pictures later, so don't be surprised if I post some celebrity gossip here tomorrow!

Finally, I wanted to show you my Sozin's Comet fan art for the fan art contest. It didn't get in the Top 10, but I would like to show you. What do you guys think?

The Golden Compass

The Golden Compass was a very, very good movie. The special effects were amazing and not to mention the acting! Nicole Kidman sent shivers down my spine as Mrs. Coulter and Dakota Blue Richards as Lyra Belacqua was very convincing. There was suspense, drama, and action and adventure every second and your attention could not be diverted. However, there were some minor changes from the book, including some switch of the events and the ending. To tell you the truth, I actually liked the way the escape from Bolvangar occurred after Ragnur (Iofur) was defeated. It felt a lot better and more climactic because that was what Lyra's entire goal was. Also, Iofur's name was changed to Ragnur which I do not really mind. It was a wise decision by Chris Weitz to change it and Iofur doesn't really play a major character anyways. Also, the ending really hurt the entire film. It would have been a heart touching scene to find out that Roger died, who Lyra was trying to save from the beginning of the movie. I was originally furious because of this change, and I was waiting to see it but I guess I can wait until The Subtle Knife. I don't care what anyone else says, but this film was great and entertaining. However, this movie is very dark so some children may not enjoy. The entire controversy about "Anti-Christianity" is absolutely rubbish in my opinion. This is just a wonderful movie based off a wonderful book, and the word "church" is not uttered at all throughout the movie. However, you can still feel that dominating, imposing personality of the Magisterium. As I said before, the acting was wonderful and so were the visual effects. I suggest that everyone should watch this in theaters to see it large screen. However, sometimes the movie felt just a bit rushed, but the entire movie itself makes up for that. The most worst part of this movie just has to be that the ending was cut off, which I was dying to see. Luckily, it is supposed to be in the DVD release. I'm also hoping for the sequel, The Subtle Knife. The Golden Compass deserves a sequel and I will seriously be extremely upset if New Line Cinema does not make it. This movie truly deserves and needs one and it will be so incomplete if the entire series is not done! I'm a fan of the books, and I can say that this movie sticks very close to the original book. The Magisterium is not shown as being like the church, but you can still feel the essence of it. Those parts are toned down, but with the wonderful acting, amazing special effects, an entertaining yet dark story, and the vibrant newcomer Dakota Blue Richards, The Golden Compass is the best movie of 2007 and it truly deserves a sequel and an applause.
