...I just wanted to apologise for being so inactive at the moment. To be honest, I'm going to be pretty inactive here for the foreseeable future. I'm not planning on leaving GS indefinitely, but I certainly can't keep up with what all my friends are doing at the moment. This doesn't mean that I've forgotten about any of you, okay?

A lot has happened to me in the two months since I returned from Calgary. I was pretty depressed for a while and as a result I let a lot of jobs pile up and I'm still sorting some of the mess out now. I've had work done on my house (some is still ongoing) and I've bought a new(er) car.

A few weeks ago, I also started going to the gym. Not because I particularly care about my outward appearance, but I was sick of trying to find shirts that'd fit my neck (I'm 18 1/2" and I have a hard time finding anything bigger than 18" ). Things have changed since then, and I have become more obsessed with how many calories I'm burning and how many I'm consuming. In fact, I've completely changed my diet and I'm now eating a lot more healthily.

It's still early days yet, but in the three or four weeks I've been going, I've already lost 5 kg (11 lbs) from a starting point of 108 kg (around 238 lbs). For those of you that know me well enough, I put the extra 10-15 lbs on since I returned from Canada, though I didn't realise until I went to the gym for the first time.

To tell you the truth, I've not felt this good about myself in years, though I accept that all I've done so far is to make a good start and there's still a lot of hard work ahead of me.

Anyway, I'll try to keep you all posted on how I'm doing. Take care, okay?

It's good you feel good with yourself. It means you're starting to get over the bad things. Anyway, you're forgiven for not posting lately.

Is the world really ready for a new slim Jake? I hope so because here he comes! Good luck on your diet and fitness goals.

Congrats on the weight loss!

I'm really happy to hear you are feeling so much better about yourself

I understand changing your diet. I did that too but I never gave up all my bad foods

It's cool, man. None of us would think you're ignoring us. It's cool that you're starting to feel much better in your life now though . Heh, exercise does have that effect on people. Keep it up.

I know you've probably been going through a lot since you returned. It's good to hear you're making steps towards feeling better though. Excercise....ewwww.

I wish I would be less lazy, that way I could go to the gym. except that I would go there to gain some pounds I can't stop eating and I'm still underweight. If fat can't make me bigger, I'll try with muscles

Cool, new car. If only I could have one... It's one of my dream since I'm young, driving my car while listening to Bon Jovi

Posted May 22, 2008 12:12 pm PT
Understandable. I'm going to be really inactive as well.
Posted May 22, 2008 1:10 pm PT
I'm envious of your resolve. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd get up off my butt and work out a bit xD *continues to sit around*

Congrats on the weight loss, and good luck! ^_^

Hey ... Don't worry about it. I am only on once a day myslef and don't do alot here anyway. But it is good to take good care of yourself. I should do that myslef but I rarely have the time with work and my kids.
Posted May 23, 2008 3:56 am PT
Hmmmm... I agree Nel!

England had better look out

Jakeydoodles and Mazzyjangles?
Posted May 23, 2008 9:55 am PT
Hey, it's no sweat dude.....hell, I log on Gamespot.com once per day, yet, I am on here short periods of time.....unless I am busy with a union, rating video games, or answering my friends blogs, but anyhow, your forgiven for not being active on here lately. Furthermore, 11 pounds is a pretty damn good amount of weight to lose to be honest.....huh, I myself am a scrawny, yet, muscular person at 140 - 150 pounds + I am 6 Ft. 2 in height - (As if I was built like a professional N.B.A All-Star.) - but at least you don't need to balance skinniness and masculinity like I do, because that is helluva tough job to deal with. (By the way, sorry for being so damn selfish, although, I get carried away sometimes with what I am talking about, but despite all of that.....the population of London, England better rush for safety, because a leaner, yet, slimmer S_Jake is putting y'all on a helluva notice!) Later.

That's so great Jake!!! I should start doing the same, would definitely help my confidence... I hope it continues to go well for you, and I hope you're enjoying some yummy vegetables!
Posted May 23, 2008 2:41 pm PT
Yay Jakie Poo!!! *laughs hysterically* (don't hurt me!!!) I'm glad you're feeling better (in every way)... life is funner when you feel good... you know, i bet if you took a holiday to America, mine and auntie Nel's surrogate house specifically, you'd feel even better... SLUMBER PARTY IN THE GREAT ROOM WITH THE WII!!!! *laughs*

yeah, i'll leave now... *laughs*
Posted May 23, 2008 3:41 pm PT
Take care Jake.

I too have put on some unwanted pounds and will be starting my exercise program soon.
Posted May 24, 2008 4:20 pm PT
Congrats! It definitely makes a difference in your confidence and overall outlook when you are treating yourself right; keep it up and remember it's not about how you look; it's about how you feel! My total support goes out to you!!!
Posted May 26, 2008 1:05 pm PT
It is good to hear from you my friend. Also good to hear that your trying something new and enjoying it as well. I know that when I workout I always feel great afterwards weather I am exhausted or not. Keep it up man and like SymonDezyn said "it's not about how you look; it's about how you feel!"

_overdose: Thanks. Hopefully I'll be able to make some time to be here in the near future.

Nate: Thanks very much. I don't have a precise target in mind, but it would be nice to get back down to 175lbs (aroound 80kg) again.

Teresa: I've not given up all mine either, and nor do I intend to. I believe that it's important to treat yourself occasionally, as long as it's in a disciplined manner. After all, this has to be a lifestyle change, so it has to be something that we're prepared to sustain.

Reno: Thanks, I intend to.

Kris: Thanks.

Locke: Believe me, having to drive is seriously overrated. I have to admit to being envious of you for being able to get away with eating whatever you like, but these things have a habit of catching up with you as you get older: I can testify to that.

Freya: Don't worry, I'll make sure I keep in touch.

Nel: Yeah, I'm sure you will.

Blace_07: Thanks and yes, you're right. By the way, nice FFCC: MLaK review.

Half-Ghost: Well good luck with everything.

Billy: Thanks.

Cecil: Thanks very much.

Maz: Are you sure you don't want that "hot bod" for yourself?

Nel and Teresa (again ): Well certainly not if Maz brings his fuzzy-pants army.

Maz (again ): *thinks you must have the wrong blog*

Game-aholic-78: Yeah, I can understand what you mean. I've been doing this every day and it's taking up pretty much all of my spare time at the moment.

Kris (again ): I think Mazlet must have meant someone else.

---Kyrino---: Thanks.

Yuna: Thanks and good luck if you do indeed decide to do that.

Rikku: Well I'm glad you're so excited. And yes, I'd love to come over and visit you both. I'll even let that "Jakie Poo" remark slide.

Ron: Thanks, and good luck with your exercise program.

Quistis: Many thanks, it's greatly appreciated. Good luck with the belly-dancing, too.

Stefan: Thanks very much. I have every intention of seeing this through.

thanks luv - we should start a support group! lol *hugs*
Posted Jun 2, 2008 12:40 pm PT
Sorry for the late Jake!! I should be the first one who ask about you I'm really sorry my friend!! So, how is everything!! Glad to hear your voice!! Busy in good things this is really great bro. hope to get what you want or what u wants to reach it!! Good luck Jake and if u don't post No problem my friend we will not forget you!!
Best Regards,

Quistis: It's funny you should say that: Nel, Maz and I have been talking about doing something similar recently. If you have MSN and wish to add me as a contact, just ask me via PM. Love the BlackRose avi, by the way.

hhh34c: Well for the most part, things are pretty good, thanks. Many thanks for the words of support, too.
Posted Jun 3, 2008 1:33 pm PT
I know you'll let it slide because you love me... Maz and I have decided that you're our one true love... *grins* He agreed that he could share you... *grins* I CALL THE MIDDLE!!
Posted Jun 4, 2008 2:33 pm PT
From what I can gather, Maz is only interested in my arse. I do think it's great that he's finally embracing his sexuality, though. And yeah, it takes a lot of love to let a pet-name like "Jakie Poo" slide.
Posted Jun 5, 2008 2:41 pm PT
hehe, can you blame him?
Posted Jun 12, 2008 10:35 am PT
Well in my experience, most ladies prefer someone like Johnny Depp or Brad Pitt. I really worry about Maz's taste in men.
Posted Jun 12, 2008 4:41 pm PT
I wouldn't worry so much about his taste in men as his experience... You don't want him to be the unexperienced type, it's so anti-climactic when you have to stop and explain to them how to do everything. *grins* You should probably send him on a few learning expeditions before you let him get his hands on you... just to be safe... *laughs and skips away to wait for the backlash*
Posted Jun 12, 2008 8:52 pm PT
Hey now, its only just brotherly love *psshh.. FFVIII * As for my sexual taste, I'm looking more towards two smokin ladies I know like a Symon and a Emu Rocker! I mean.. Emo
Experience in men ehh? You make Jake seem like his experienced when it comes to handle men Got something to say ehhh Jakeydoodles?
I rather use my experience on what i already know, the female
Posted Jun 13, 2008 4:34 am PT
It's okay Maz, you're amongst friends here, so there's no need for you to hide anything, understand? As for Rikku's comment about experience, well I was hoping that Maz would show me the ropes as I don't have any experience of this kind of thing. But as someone close to me told me recently, I shouldn't knock something that I haven't tried (which is more than what Mazlet can say ).
Posted Jun 13, 2008 2:51 pm PT
Oh my goodness. I think I've opened a can of worms that's bigger than I can handle... Perhaps I should think through these things before I speak... *is at a loss for anything else to say*
Posted Jun 13, 2008 4:21 pm PT
Oh wow...This is the creepiest blog I've ever seen I believe...If maz *does* happen to molest you, please don't post the details xD
Posted Jun 13, 2008 4:31 pm PT
Rikku: You're just shocked that I'm open-minded enough to play along.

Billy: Don't worry, I'd never subject you to that. Merely imagining it is bad enough, believe me. That said, I really hope that he's gentle with me if it does come to that.
Posted Jun 13, 2008 6:21 pm PT
Never hope that they're gentle. I've been man molested, and when you hope that it's gentle, it's always rough *flashback to Mike V*
Posted Jun 13, 2008 7:37 pm PT
Oh wow, really? I'm really sorry to hear that.
Posted Jun 14, 2008 3:21 am PT
He's kidding Jake. He's never been molested by anyone, he only wishes. As for Mazzy being gentle, I'm sure he will, he cares about you, remember. I was just afraid of where the conversation might go after your comment. I thought I'd just subjected the world to something it didn't want to see. *laughs*
Posted Jun 14, 2008 8:34 am PT
hmmm, think this time I'll keep my thoughts to myself but that doesn't mean you won't hear about it, Jake Talk with you soon in our favorite spot for such talk.
Posted Jun 14, 2008 9:40 am PT
Rikku: *closes his eyes and pauses to think for a moment before he reopens them again* All I can say is that I'm really glad to hear that he was joking....

Nel: Well I guess I'll find out about it in due course, then.
Posted Jun 14, 2008 5:16 pm PT
Congrats Jake, it's always good to hear about someone taking a hold of their own life and it does feel good to be in good shape. I too haven't really had much time for GS, I hope to start contributing again. There are a lot of great people here.
Posted Jun 14, 2008 5:46 pm PT
Of course I was joking. I have been bitten really hard by a man though...A simple game of spoons got violent Also, the same man tried to like...tear my nipples off o.O He scares me
Posted Jun 14, 2008 6:19 pm PT
You know you will
Posted Jun 15, 2008 1:17 am PT
Jeff: I agree, the community here is really something. I've made a lot of good friends here and I do wish that I had more time for time all.

Billy: Well how was I to know that you were only joking? These things do happen, you know....Anyway, that guy does sound kind of creepy....

Nel: I'm still waiting to hear about it.
Posted Jun 15, 2008 3:37 pm PT
I apologize on Billy's behalf... He has a very sick sense of humor sometimes... *glares at him*
Posted Jun 16, 2008 10:46 am PT
Hey, it's okay. I don't know whether either of you know this or not, but I have had a such an experience myself (which I really wish I didn't have), so I can't help but to take all such claims seriously.
