I've been wanting to see this movie for a long time now. Not only because it looked great but because it was directed by Neill Blomkamp and produced by Peter Jackson, the same two who were going to make the Halo movie and thetwo that did "Halo Landfall". Well, although the Halo movie didn't come out, District 9 is still quite awesome.

It's kind of hard to explain but the plot is about an alien ship that becomes stranded on earth. Unfortunetely, the aliens (or "Prawns" as they're called) are taken by the government into "District 9", a camp that is set to house the species. 30 years later, the MNU (the group who governs the area) plans to evict the prawns from the camp to the new "District 10". I don't want to give too much of the plot away but overall, it's pretty well written.
I don't really have too much to say, this is the best movie I've seen all year and the best sci-fi I've seen in a long time. The acting is solid, the plot is interesting, and the effects are great. I recommend this movie to anyone.
