GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con

This week is... or, I should say 'would have been' E3 week. It's sad that in a week where us gamers would usually be downloading new trailers by the dozens, reading in-depth previews of this holiday season's biggest blockbusters, and having revealed to us brand new IP's and sequels from our favourite developers; we are doing none of this. It's a shame that E3 has been downgraded; what once was a spectacular month for gaming has now become one of the most lackluster.

What do you miss most about E3? And how are you killing time during these dog days of gaming?

I miss the keynotes the most. I always thought they were the most information packed events at E3. Thankfully we still get those at other times throughout the year. I'll also really miss GameSpot's coverage of it because I really enjoyed the way they made such a show of it for the past 3 years, plus it was nice to see all the editors dealing with the craziness that was E3. Lastly, I'll miss going. I went in 2005 and was planning on going again but couldn't last year and then... well, that was it. I feel bad for any gamer out there that always dreamed of going to E3 and now will never have that chance. I am thankful that I at least got to live that dream once.

I'll definitly miss the coverage most, although to be fair there could be an equal amount of coverage for "the new" E3 just in a much, much different atmosphere.

The part I loved the most was hitting up GameSpot several times a day, giddy to see what new announcements there were. It seemed as though every time you hit the refresh button, a new game or trailer was announced or released, respectively. That's what I loved the most, it was like an hourly dose of cocain for an addict.

And yes, the keynotes by the big three were spectacular. As well as development companies keynotes such as Square Enix.
