I just read here. http://au.xbox360.ign.com/articles/859/859265p1.html

edit: also here http://kotaku.com/367283/miller-barlog-working-on-mad-max-game

That a Mad Max game is in development.

Mad Max

As a big fan of Mad Max im excited, especially as this is apparently in collaboration with God of War 2 director Cory Barlog, it will be based on the movie "Mad Max: Fury Road" that they intended to make in 2003 before it was put on hold due to the iraq war. (crashing of the US dollar to the Australian etc. George Miller moved on to Happy Feet instead.)

Apparently Mel Gibson will not be involved In the movie or the Game (as he was originally in 2003), George Miller stating age as a reason. He also states the game will be focused on before he starts on the movie, then to coincide with it when the movie releases. Its described as an Action Adventure.

I am excited. What about you guys?

What would you like to see in the game?

Im all for some old school mad max driving sequences! I also cant imagine the game without some sort of shooting mechanic, probably third person. Heres hoping for a decent movie game crossover.

I'm not too sure how I feel about this game / movie being made, especially since Mel Gibson will not be involved with either. I just hope they don't screw both up though, cause the Mad Max series is quite awesome.

I have some worries, but im trying to be optimistic, at least George Miller (filmaker) seems pretty big involved and cory barlog has some cred. Also the fact they seem to be focusing on the game as much as the movie, and George Miller himself saying he didnt want it to be like the typical movie tie in.

As far as mel gibson not being in it, im not to worried, i think at the moment with his current rep it could hurt just as much as him not being apart of it. Besides he is getting kind of old.

I'm totally split. I would have loved to see Mel in it. I just hope this doesn't ruin the name of the series since it ended on a good note.

Really? the third movie is widely regarded as sucking.

The series still has a good name though, so i can see the trepidation that the fourth one might fail.

Many people are of the opinion the third movie sucked because it went to "hollywood", but i guess this movie cant really be anything but a big extravaganza. I guess if its got to much of that fake spray on hollywood sheen it ruins the gritty realism.

Mad max is awesome, although im a bit worried since you know how these usually turn out, however if Balrog is undergoing it, it might turn out well, hopefully!
