Optiums Maximus, gratias. Ok maybe not better than anybody but its good. For those who dont know the title is from Uncharted 2. I'll be giving the title of each paragraph a Latin title and for those out there who cant speak Latin WISE UP! Or just read the translation next to the original, provided by yours truly

Bonus Magnum! (very good)

Well first things first, I got Uncharted 2 right after school on Tuesday. I raced home as fast as I could and threw in Nate's newest adventure. My first impression is damn! I just played through the first game and can see how extraordinarily well this game is at progressing the series. The first game was epic and fun in the extreme but this takes it to an entirely new level; the scope of the adventure, the characters, (some new and some returning) provide everything you could ask for to keep things interesting and its got a plot that will keep you guessing and wanting to play more to find out what the next turn will be. The gameplay is a nice step up from the first too (the hand to hand combat is much better) and no more blind leaps of faith. Oh and did I mention the graphics? Best since MGS4, no contest, (although I haven't played Killzone 2) if you have an HDTV, a word of warning: eyes may pop out of sockets!!

Quinque fortis puellae et Deus ex mechina (5 brave girls and the machine of God)

On Thursday I finished Kanon, an anime I recently bought at the behest of a friend's recommendation and it was worth every penny. Kanon is one of the select few that has the privilege of being granted a 10 for me and the only series that isn't mech inspired to achieve this (yeah I gave Ghost in the Shell and Akira 10s but they are movies not a series.) The story is brave and moving at the same time and really makes you think about what everyday people take for granted. An uplifting ending and memorable characters make this one a worthy addition to my anime collection. Makoto was Id say my favorite, her unique story and love for Yuichi was positively gripping. The second part of that title is about my reading, I am almost done with the EVA manga and what can I say other than wow, perfection! A true testament to the story, an alternate telling, but one that I would say is so far, as good as the anime.

Qui est vita sine versus et puellae? (What is life without poetry and girls?)

Well my school is running another poetry contest for the school paper, this time the prose needs to be in the romantic style of British authors. And I guess I have to enter it because my teacher is allowing for the winner to be exempt from the final exam! So Im hard at work trying to get off what I hear from seniors is a pretty hard test. Ive got some ideas and the thing is due in 2 weeks so maybe sometime soon you guys will have something nice to read

I'll leave you with a quote from Cicero

"Fidem habentibus nihil est incertum." To those having faith nothing is uncertain.

I can't read latin, I took spanish instead Glad you're enjoying the new Uncharted game Glad you liked Kanon too I'm not that good at writing poetry, anyway good luck I hope you win I actually had something like that a few years ago in my creative writing class but we didn't get to be exempt from the final exam if we won, which was ok because it was probably the easiest final I ever took (it was about 10 questions about what different writing techniques were)

Well, I definitely agree with you on Uncharted visuals. They are a close second to Killzone 2 in terms of shear technical quality, but they far surpass Killzone in terms of scope and beauty. I'm still not the biggest fan of Uncharted, but I've got to give credit where credit is due. The game is a feast for the eyes. And this time around, the dialogue is actually funny to me rather then contrived and snippy, so I'm enjoying it so far. The opening with the train was also quite impressive.

Good luck with the poetry writing. I'm sure you can handle it.

Yeah, Uncharted 2 looks and plays great! The pacing is great, and it's amazing how I never get bored. Also, you gotta love the amazing wit and humor that goes into the dialogue.

Hooray! I'm glad you enjoyed Kanon Yeah, everything about it delivered, and I couldn't give it anything other than a perfect 10 either - there's not a single arc I did not enjoy. Haha, I had a feeling that you'd enjoy Makoto's arc - it was definitely one of the saddest ones How about that demon-fighting arc, eh? When you-know-who went to the school earlier than she should have for the birthday party, I was all like, "HOLY CRAP, THIS JUST WENT ALL ELFEN LIED ON ME".

Damn, that's one contest I'd like to win Good luck with it, but I'm sure you don't need that with your poetry-producing skills

lol same as Ed I'm taking Spanish . I really don't wanna get Drake's Fortune I'm way too lazy to beat that game first. But I think I may be getting MW2 for my bday and then once I get a car and license I'll just buy Uncharted 2 myself stealthily (if that's even a world :lol. But anyways Uncharted 2 is better looking than MGS4 (I never thought that would ever happen...) Killzone 2 has amazing environments but the character models are bleh (except for the Helghast). And there are some low res textures here and there. But again Uncharted 2 is the best looking game out there. I hope you're enjoying the game!

Uncharted 2 looks like an amazing game too bad I dont have the chance to play it.

My expectations for Uncharted 2 was really high leading up to its release and I was absolutely blown away by its superb production values and amazing visuals. The fact that it was also twice as long and intense in terms of action and its wonderfully woven tale, the only downside is that it has to end. Clearly a front runner to take home the highly lauded GOTY award. Anyways, best of luck writing that award winning, poem of yours.

@ed: well Ive been studying Latin a while, I speak it fluently, hence the translations. I feel pretty confidant in my writing, I was in the school paper last year for something I wrote.

@raven: glad to hear you are liking it more than the first, its well deserved IMO. Thanks for the vote of confidence man!

@acha: yeah but heres hoping they do it!

@broly: yup Im happy

@hazel: you said it, everything down to Nates lines are all just great. Hmm cant imagine why you thought Id like Makotos story the best Dang man, my thoughts EXACTLY about the party I instantly thought Elfen Lied at that point! Thanks, Ive decided now how the poem is going, should be epic

@pharoah: the nice thing about Latin is that it started all the 'romance languages' so knowing it makes it easy to learn Italian, French and Spanish. Good luck getting Uncharted 2, Id say its worth the risk.

@reo: dang thats a shame man, youre missing out

@david: yup, what else can we say? The game just flat out rocks! Unless something outrageous happens sometime within the next 2 months its got my vote for GOTY. Thats something considering BlazBlue and some of the other great ones like RE5 (I liked it anyway.) Thanks, I'll be sure to post the poem when its done.

you can actually be excempt from exams like that? omg! why can't we have things like that here? that'd really be helpful.... anyways, can't wait to read your poem, I like this stuff, being a lyric writer

Impressive latin! Actually I don't know s*** about latin, I'm just complementing. Uncharted 2 looks hardcore, I'd definitely keep my eye on it until I eventually buy it sometime next year. I might also get an HDTV monitor (and possibly build a PC), attaching my PS3 into the monitor so I could experience my eyes popping out.

Oh and good luck for that poetry contest, it sure would be nice to skip a hard final exam like that!

@sparda: lol yeah it'll be nice if I get it. Well it'll be up soon but its a romantic poem so it doesnt really have a rhyme scheme or anything, its just really pretty.

@neil: its fun being able to express things in another language, especially one as badass as Latin. An HD PC moniter sounds like a plan, less expensive than a TV I guess. Thanks, I think the poem is really good right now so we'll just have to see.

@Roman_Irishman: Bengali (indian) is also a pretty bada$$ language, I can understand it when my folks and most other people speak it, but I can't actually speak much of it myself unfortunately.
