The 13th Warrior is a very under-rated film, and it is a shame it never did well at the box office. While some elements of the story are obvious (thereby making the central character's revelations a bit redundant), it is nevertheless an interesting tale and firmly grounded in the time period.
The performances from the cast are solid all round, and Banderas does a good job as the central character. The action set pieces are excellently realised, from setting to choreography, and never seem contrived or unrealistic.
Truly a classic film in it's genre, and one that I never tire of watching.
