When I was in 8th grade, I had this friend who would drink "Monster" energy drinks every day. I would tell him that it was gross, and was bad for you, until one day, he bought me a "Monster". Was it good? No, it was better. I had never felt so energized in my life. I found I could talk a mile-a-minute, and still make sense to myself. I loved the feeling of never running out of steam, when I normally would have.
So the next day, and every day after that for the rest of the year, I walked to 7/11 and bought myself an energy drink. I soon realized thatI needed more to get the same rush thatI did whenI first drank it. So I up-ed my dosage to two drinks almost everyday. And that's when I did it. On May 18, my birthday,I bought 10 Monsters from 7/11 and brought them to school. I drank three in the morning but I saved the rest for lunch.
When lunch time came around, I gathered all the people I could find to watch me do the stupidest thing I did that year. They watched as I shotgunned 7 cans of "Monster", throwing up a couple minutes later. Well thats all fine and well, but here is the bad part. A snitch went and told the nurse, and she got the paramedics to come to the school. After a couple hours of throwing up and heart monitors, the paramedics said I was fine. Then I was taken to the Principal's office. The conclusion was that energy drinks were banned from my middle school as a result of my so called "ridiculous stunt".
That didn't bring my hopes down though. I am still a strong user of "Monster" and I don't think anything can stop me. So yes, I am addicted, but who really cares, its legal cocaine to me.
