Adults deny that they were smart enough to make their own choices at a young age, but they were. They feed kids stories of how they went without when they were our age. They tell us how they never had computers and xbox's and cell phones. How they had to sit at the phone if they were waiting for a call, or how they read books to keep them busy, or how they had to do math on paper. This is all true. They were not as privileged as we are in technology. But one thing is sure, with new technology comes new information. So as we progressed in computers and calculators, we were able to do higher levels of math in schools, at a younger age. As we progressed in video games, millions and millions of people are employed to gaming companies as well as attending college for computers. After the invention of the cell phone, we are able to call our friends without blocking your important phone calls, we can check in every hour to tell you where we are, and we can communicate with each other faster.

When the our parents were our age, they did not do as much as we do in a days time. School took longer, because all calculations took longer without scientific calculators. Writing biography's and research papers took were completed in weeks. Now, with the internet, we can gather information in the blink of an eye, and type it up the night before it is due. But because we have the ability to achieve all of this at the click of a button, tasks have become harder. We start algebra and physics in the 7th grade, English literature in the 8th grade, and by the time we get to high school, we are taking classes such as auto-tech, French, psycology, politics, statistics and at Junior year, we can take college level classes. When did you ever do that? So don't complain when we get on our cell-phones or our PS3's. Because you may have had it harder when you were kids, but you wouldn't survive one day in the lives we live with the experience you have now. And plus, you get to have cell phones and internet and cable and all your fancy whine openers now, so don't act like you never had anything.

Life is different on every aspect. My dad used to tell me how he had it harder. Then he kicked me out of my house and now I'm looking for a job in a recession. So, times may be different and technology may be creating a lazy generation but I didn't see my dad busting his ass looking for a job because the economy didn't suck in the 90s XD

I think the only thing technology has provided is better communication and though that may be a bigger luxury for the new generations, it's not big enough to have us take a giant leap out the gate when we start adulthood. It's all based on economy not technology.

I'm guessing your parents gave you a lecture?
