Ya, it's me! I finally got back from my trip to Edmonton and am very pleased to tell you, I am the proud owner of an Xbox 360 and Assassin's Creed (remember when the word Assassin was funnny?) I beat the game in a matter of two days and am busting with joy. The graphics are amazing and I'm addicted to unlocking achievements. Although I am currently spooning the console, there are some things I can't stand about the system.

The noise of the fan is UNBEARABLE. During some of the quieter moments of game play, the fan completely blocks out the voices. The power box=HUGE! I couldn't believe the size of the thing when I unwrapped it. It's the size of my dog's head...yeah. The RROD...I can't wait for that! I'm so nervous that I feel the side of the d*** thing every five seconds. Other than that, amazing!

I'm going to be heading down to the mall with a couple of friends in a few days when I get payed, and I wanna know what game you people think I should get. Halo 3, Gears of War, The Darkness, Bad company, or Dark Sector. Also, if you have any advice on how to keep my 360 in working condition for a LONG time, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey congrats on getting a 360. My advice to keep it in the best working enviornment would be: keep it COOL! Avoid using it in hight temperatures and make sure it is always receiving a good supply of cool air. As regards the games you mentioned I would definately pick up Halo 3, Gears of War and Bad company

keepin it cool is the best tip, i havent had too many problems so far with mine (fingers crossed) i would say for the game you need Gears of war which is cheaper now and Halo 3 for sure. those are the classics, i would also recommend the orange box (best value ever) and EA skate if you like skatebaording at all...best game ever!

welcome back, and congrats on the 360.

the sound of the fan really annoyed me at first as well, but after a while it just becomes white noise.
as for games, out of the ones you listed i would say gears of war and the darkness are both great games. but in my opinion halo 3 isn't worth $60.
and another great game to check out would be Bioshock.

congrats on your bought, yeah i had the same reaction as you did at first, the 360 is a really crappy hardware, but so far the software more then makes up for it

Well, if you have high speed(which I'm sure you do) you need to set up an x-box live account.(if you haven't already. The games I'd say get are Halo 3 and Gears of War. The ones that aren't on the list I would recommend are: if you like RPGs: Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, and Oblivion. For Slashers: any dynasty warriors game(5:empires, 6, gundam), Samurai Warriors 2, Ninety Nine Nights, and Devil May Cry 4. For shooters: Crackdown, Rainbow 6: Vegas 1 and/or 2, and Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare. Fighting games: Soul Calibur 4. Also, I don't know if you want to be in a 360 union but I've got one that is really active and I really like it there. Its the X-Box Live Union. Look for it in my unions. I've got a thread there that tells you the best way to take care of your 360. Sorry for the long comment. x)
