As a huge fan of his music, I believe one Marshall Mathers put it best: "If you had one shot, one opportunity to seize everything you ever wanted in one moment, would you capture it or let it go?"

No, I am not becoming a rapper-I got a call on Friday from the Veterans Administration for a job interview where I did my internship. Not long after that, I got a call for a job interview at a local hospital-so I have two interviews this week. Pretty good considering I graduated in December.

The Veterans Adminstration (VA) job is my DREAM JOB. I loved working there during my internship and I have been wanting to get back there for about a year now. I like the staff, I like the organization, I like the patients, I like the structure and I was truly happy working there. How many of us can say we like our jobs? The interview may be this Wednesday, they need to make sure everyone involved in the interview is available.

The hospital job would be nice if the VA falls through, they usually pay well and it is a great place to get experience. The bonus is both jobs are right near where I live so I would save money on gas.

So here I sit, 4 hours away from one interview and possibly 48 hours away from the VA one.

"You can do anything you set your mind to"

I hope that is true, I have been thinking about this VA job for almost a year, I have been checking my mail religiously and been waiting by the phone to receive word-now I have my shot.

Chance of a lifetime, and a back up plan to boot. Better make the most of it.

Howdy!

As some of you may know I am a HUGE fan of Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath. I have seen them both in concert around 6 or so times and I even had Sabbath's bass player Geezer Butler point me out after I shouted down "GEEZER YOU RULE!" I nearly fainted. Anyways, Ozzy just put out his biography and to honor the occasion I am going to post my 5 favorite Ozzy solo songs with my favorite line from each song. So enjoy! If you have no clue what any of this is or have not ever listened to either...DO IT NOW!

Top 5 Ozzy Solo

5. Road to Nowhere from No More Tears: A rather slow song, sort of a ballad but Zakk Wylde hits the guitar hard. It is basically Ozzy reflecting on his life and not regretting a bit-I feel the same way about mine-all the good and bad I have done and experienced it made me who I am and I like that. "The wreckage of my past keeps haunting me, it just won't leave me alone. I still find it all a mystery, could it be a dream? The road to nowhere leads to me."

4.Diary of a Madman from album of the same name: Classical guitar pieces spliced in with modern metal riffs to this slow paced song illustrating the late Randy Rhoad's brilliance on guitar. Ozzy's haunting lyrics tell the story of a man in pain who cannot help save his fleeting sanity. This one kept me company my 1st two years of High School. "Enemies fill up the pages, are they me? Monday through Sunday in stages, set me free."

3. Miracle Man from No Rest for the Wicked: Ozzy's jab back at Jimmy Swaggart who is an American TV Evangelist who got busted with hookers. Jimmy Swaggart was on Ozzy's case all the time and when he got caught with his pants down (literally) Ozzy swiped back. The song features Zakk Wylde on guitar for the first time with Ozzy and is just great. "MIRACLE MAN GOT BUSTED!" Gee, I hope we can say the same of Obama soon.

2.Bark at the Moon from album of the same name: The first album after the death of Randy Rhoads had an amazing title track featuring blistering guitar riffs from Jake E. Lee. The song gets it's title from a joke Ozzy used to tell and the song is all about Werewolves (much cooler than vampires-TAKE THAT TWILIGHT!) "Those that the beast is looking for listen in awe and you'll hear him bark at the moon."

1. Crazy Train from Blizzard of Ozz: Ozzy's signature piece. It features some of the finest guitar work you will ever hear from Randy Rhoads who left us way too soon. To see this done live is amazing, the place literally goes crazy, the crowd goes into a frenzy when the opening riff hits. When it is time for the guitar solo Ozzy shows shots of Randy Rhoads on the stage which elicits a roar from the crowd who then go beserk from the frenzied playing. The lyrics are solid and seem to be a lament about society. "I'm going off the rails on a crazy train." Who hasn't been there?

I would've loved to do my top 5 Sabbath songs, but that would take up too much room. Though I must mention my favorite song by them "Symptom of the Universe" which will pretty much melt your face off and blow your mind.

Until the next time,

Howdy!

I figure a friendly blog once a month is not too bad. I can still fight the good fight on my formal blog (SHAMELESS PLUG IN 5,4,3,2,1)

http://takeitasyouwill.blogspot.com

Go here if you want to read thoughtful, provactive thoughts on politics and truth in general. It is a pretty charged blog, I don't pull any punches and as I said it is very politically oriented, so read it if you like. Take a look at what the Watchman has to say, it may open your eyes.

Lots of new games coming out. Mass Effect 2 on 1/26/10 and Bioshock 2 on 2/9/10 (my wedding anniversary). I have both preordered and cannot wait to get them. I am also very much looking forward to getting Army of Two the 40th Day which was already released. 2010 looks to have some great releases and I am sure more interesting stuff is on track for the future. I heard that the folks behind Bioshock may be working on a follow up or a remake of X-Com UFO Defense. That would be too great as I am a fan of the original. Now if we could only get a proper Shadowrun follow up (not the stupid hackneyed FPS garbage that came out a few years ago, but one like the Sega Genesis Version).

Lost comes back on 2/2/10 for the final season. I am sad it is going, but I cannot wait to find out what all has been happening. At least I have the awesomeness of the remake of "V" to keep me company in Lost's absence. Sadly it won't be back until March. Hey TV execs, I don't care what is going on, continuity keeps it fresh in the minds of viewers.

Happily the snow in PA has ceased...for now. It snowed every day for a week starting on New Years Eve.

NYE went very well, the Xbox didn't die and my best friend and I drank lots of beer, ate lots of food, and killed a lot of terrorists on Army of TWO.

Well that is about all, leave some comments and have a great day.
