COMMAND AND CONQUER

Yes, the legend itself is here. A genre defining and ridiculously addictive and competetive, not to mention stunningly well made game from a small developer named Westwood studios came to us in 1995 in the form of Command and Conquer (aka Command and Conquer: Tiberian Dawn). With some developers helping with acting in the now legendary (thanks RA2) so bad they're good FMV scenes, this was a surprisingly small project. What was produced was, frankly, stunning.
Set in an alternative history Earth within the year 1995, Command & Conquer tells the story of two globalized factions; the Global Defense Initiative (GDI) of the United Nations, and the ancient cult organization known as the Brotherhood of Nod (NOD), becoming locked in a mortal struggle for control over a mysterious resource known as Tiberium.
This game can be downloaded for free online - Westwood released it for free online to mark the 12th anniversary of the C&C series.

In other news, i'm hoping to get warhammer online for christmas this year, WoW has been boring me recently and I need something new - plus, PCZone gave it a very positive review (92%) and the pvp & public quests sound amazing. Hopefully I'm getting xbox live soon and I'll be able to lose to you all online as well as offline - I can't wait, can you? :O
Keep a look out for the Deus Ex 3 trailer that will soon be appearing on my profile ![]()
after long deliberation, i've decided on my number 6.
BALDURS GATE 2
SHADOWS OF AMN

It's difficult to know where to start with a game like this. Shadows of Amn is the critically acclaimed masterpiece that continues the story told in the original, almost perfecting an already exceptional series from black isle studios. Developed by Bioware and released in September 2000, this game sets the benchmark for all roleplaying games, and who better to make it than the grand-daddys of rp games?
The story is set in the Forgotten Realms, the most popular D&D story setting. It has sold over 2,000,000 units and is widely regarded as one of the best role-playing games of all time.
A well deserved #6.
Unreal Tournament
Unreal Tournament is a first-person shooter video game co-developed by Epic Games and Digital Extremes. It was published in 1999 by GT Interactive. Retrospectively, the game has also been referred to as UT99 or UT cl/ssic to differentiate it from its numbered sequels. The game is based on the same technology that powered Unreal, but the design of UT shifted the series' focus to competitive multiplayer action, a trend at the time: id Software's Quake III Arena was released only ten days later.
UT is known and widely praised for its bot A.I., the product of programmer Steve Polge who had earlier risen to fame by designing the Reaper Bot for Quake, one of the earliest examples of an effective deathmatch bot.
Unreal Tournament was one of the best deathmatch games ever created. It's a true test of lightning quick reactions and sharpshooting, and considering it's still played today there are some very seasoned players - you're not in for an easy fight!
