Pardon my absence as of late.

My boss has had me running overnight line-hauls for two weeks now. The hours are brutal so I have almost no time to be on the computer. But on the upside, I'm raking in the cash.

Its got me thinking that next year, I might be able to buy a new car, and not some piece of sh!t. A nice car.

Maybe something like this:

I hear these are going to be out in September this year, featuring a twin-turbocharged V6 rated at 450bhp and 465ft/lbs. of torque, a 6-speed manual and AWD. And with a sticker price of about $38000, it is actually affordable.

Could see myself slapping a pair of Stage IV turbos and a cat-back exhaust on that bad boy and eating every riced Civic I find.

Nothing pisses me off more than people that don't know what they're doing. Usually this can be related to a lack of experience, which may not always be the person's fault, however, they are still responsible for their actions.

I work as a truck-driver, and have been doing so for 3 years now. In my field, there are not alot of young people, such as myself. I am 22 years old, which puts me about 10 years behind the median age for truck drivers. I do get a bit of guff now and then from old farts who have nothing better to do then complain but they're senile, so I don't care. They claim I'm too young to be driving rigs.

But to my point, I was at work yesterday. I am waiting for a bay to open up so I can swing my trailer, unhook, deal with my cargo manifest and go home. Finally, one of the trailers gets emptied and its 'head' (truck-tractor) gets into position to hook-up and pull it out.

This is where it went wrong.

Number one: His 'fifth-wheel' (the large clamp that the trailer's kingpin slides into) wasn't greased at all, so it didn't fall back into the standard slanted position. So, as he backed up into the trailer, the fifth wheel wasn't properly aligned. Personally, I circle check my head, before every trailer I hook up, as should ever driver, so he had no reason for that.

Number two: As he's coming down to hook-up, I could see it coming too, he 'high-hooks' the trailer. That is when the trailer's kingpin gets a partial hook-up or completely misses the fifth wheel as it did in this case. Now, 'high-hooks' are a major piss-off because the trailer comes to rest on the truck's frame itself, requiring the driver to 'dump' (modern trucks use air-bag suspensions that can be raised or lowered by a pressure system) his suspension pressure.

Number three: He's already high-hooked it, which is not hard to notice, you feel it when the trailer slams down onto your rig's frame. He then gooses it in reverse, and slams the back of his cab against the front-side of the trailer! I was flabbergasted, this guy did just about every possible thing wrong that he could have. There was easily $7000 in damage to the cab and trailer.

But what really pissed me off, is that it took almost an hour to get the two seperated. Its just stupidity, that guy will be fired and I get reamed out by my boss because I was an hour late on delivering my trailer back to the yard!

I hate this sh!t....

The weekend is upon me once again. Unfortunately, small game season isn't open yet. So that leaves me here in the city...

I love Canada, but I can't stand Toronto. If this place wasn't my guaranteed hook-up on work, I'd have blown this popsicle stand ages ago.

Well, its off the LCBO to pick a couple six-packs, then some of my favourite 'medicine' herbs.  Only a matter of time now, until I am crunked off my ass.

Happy Friday to you all, enjoy the weekend!

Some people just don't have opinions. Like RED_ED.
RED_ED must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could RED_ED possibly have for not rating a single film?
