You know something, after seeing shots of Street Trace NYC on the 360, and realising they're getting that LoD within 150mb,
I'm coming more to the conclusion Developers are just really really lazy when it comes to compression.
I mean, so far the games i've seen haven't been photo realistic, but they've not looked any worse than say 5 years ago, thinking of the game American McGee's Alice, and if they're planning to squeeze Quake Arena into 150mb....which was originally about 5-600 mb, then.....i now question how compressed, games on the PS3 are, i mean some games are supposed to be like 22Gb.

Use good compression and you will prolly squash games right down to 8-10Gb which would fit onto a DVD9, which leads me to another point.....the lack of compression in these games leads me to think these developers have very little knowledge of a console if they don't compress, and isn't the idea to literally squeeze every ounce of horse power out of these machines?

Well you do know what DVD9 is. So I take it you do do media in compressed format. Its still hurts the original. Not just in the look, but in sound as well. Your never gonna compress a original exact. People said MP3 were exacts, which was BS. You lost a tun of highs and low from the original source. Which was just re enhanced via the players used. And as far as video. Ughh compression sucks. But we deal with it.
