It has been a dream of mine for a long time now to have a full and complete entertainment system setup built by me. (with alot of help on the design plans...thanks Jeff)
When I get around to it, I may even post some bragging rights pics.
My wife is happy with the look of it...and that I got her a Wii for a early xmas gift.
I now have completed some of my sets aswell.
Sony: PS3, PS2, PS1, PSP.
Microsoft: Xbox 360, Xbox.
Nintendo: Wii, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Pocket, Micro, SP, DS, DS Lite.
Sega: Dreamcast, Saturn, Genesis, CD, 32X, Nomad, GameGear, Master System.
Misc: Real 3DO, Panasonic 3DO, Atari Jaguar, Lynx, Neogeo, Neogeo Pocket Color, Ngage.
I think that covers them all...I'm prob missing something though.
It still supprises me that they all fit into the entertainment unit, thanks again Jeff...awsome designing. ![]()
I have about 200 current auctions open on Ebay looking for more games from those systems, so hopefully by xmas I'll break the 3,000 game total. Currently I'm sitting about 2870 or so...that includes only working titles, I have about 60 carts that either wont load or have had the little battery inside them burn out and will no longer save games...ect. I only count full working versions.
Anyways, been a long time since I posted here so forgive the big update.
I would also like to give a special thanks to Jeff, Craig, Tony, John, Terry, Sasha, Gina, Carla, Tiffany, Jamie, Krystal and everyone else who helped me make one of the single largest collections of games and systems most people have ever seen. Keep finding the games and I'll keep buying em from ya. Eventually I plan on having one of nearly every game (working) made since the mid 80's through till today....long term goal, but still would be nice to see.
Work calls, so I gota jet...thanks again everyone for your support and putting up with my nearly obsessive nature with gaming.
Well since I have alot of free time right now being off work for the next 4 months, I decided Im going to work on that case/stand I have been wanting to build for some time now.
See right now I have 4 big shelving units in my living room, all full of games, movies systems and everything then on each side of those 4 big ones I have 2 smaller ones with all my hand held system stuff. To be honest its a bit of a eye sore.
I got a buddy of mine (hes a carpenter for a home building center) to draw me up some plans based on some notes I gave him for a custom shelving unit I wanted to build.
Now that I have the plans, I just need the parts. I'll try and post a pic of my living room after I have finished building this thing. Although I'm really not sure how long its going to take me.
My wife is glad I'm finally getting rid of the nasty ones I have been using. (Basically 2x4's painted black...really nasty)
This new one will be her fav type of wood coloring. Lacquered Dark Cherry wood. Should look very nice.
Although I'm worried about not only how long its going to take me to build this thing, but also how it will fit in the living room.
It will measure 12' wide by 8' high, 3' deep. So as you can imagine its a BIG unit. But it will have enough space to hold all my game systems, games and movies.
The hardest part was figuring out how to have this thing work as a shelving unit, while still acting as a entertainment unit.
The TV I got my wife for our 5th anniversary (big 72" pain in the ass) will even fit right in the middle of this beast. So she will be happy I wont have to rearrange the living room. (She is stubborn and likes a tidy/orderly space) If somethings "not quite right" I have to move it for her until its "found its home"
Anyways Home Depot closes in in like 45 min so I better get crackin. Im just going to pick everything up tonight and get everything sorted. I'll start on it all tomorrow.
Wish me luck ![]()
