GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con
Monday, Aug 18, 2008
I just recently encountered few posts regarding the info that games for PS3 will not be locked regionally. Did anyone had a chance of checking if its true? If so, then we're in business since games in Europe cost 60 Euro and in USA 60$! BTW movies are said to be locked.

Movies have Regional coding just like the DVDs have, games are supposed to be region free, but I have yet to stumble upon solid proof of this claim

My sister is in the US right now, I guess I'll ask her for NBA 08k or 07K or maybe NBA Live 09. She will be back in few months though so I won't know for sure any near.

Yes the PS3 is region free for games. Every week on PS3 Fanboy when they do the weekly releases they say that at the bottom of the post. You should be fine with any games from any regions.

PC games are cheaper here in Poland, but PS3 and X360 can be twice as pricy, so that's a splendid thing I didn't know buying console. PS3 keeps surprising me positively . BTW thanks to TVersity (program on PC that creates virtual media server accrssible from the PS3 browser) you can easily transfer 20, 40 gigs and biggrt files throug a cable or wireless . BTW going with 250 gigs HD was a great choice.
