If you feel an Editor is cheating, or treating your submissions unfairly, you can use this alias to file a complaint. Send a PM to this alias with the subject line - Problem Editor. Your PM should include as many details as possible. If the problem has to do with submissions, please tell us what guide you're submitting to, what episode, etc. If the problem has to do with forums, please provide a link. The more information we have the easier it will be to help you.

EDIT

When reporting problems with submissions, please include as many details as you possibly can. We need to know the show, the episode, and the contents of your submission. A copy of the PM you received when the submission was processed would be great. Save those PM's!

Staff will check these reports on a daily basis. In all but a few extreme cases, Editors will receive up to two warnings asking them to mend their ways. Any Editor unwilling to follow the rules after being warned, will face retirement and, depending on the severity of the offense, suspension or ban.

IMPORTANT - We encourage you to try to resolve the situation yourself by contacting the Editor directly, and ask that you only use this alias when absolutely necessary. Most problems can be solved easily and with minimal effort if you take the time to contact the Editor.

VERY IMPORTANT - Please note that abuse of the ProblemEditor ID (spamming the account, reporting without offering proof or any explanation) is not allowed and may result in possible moderation. The ProblemEditor ID is meant as the next step if a user and an editor cannot work out their problems on their own and need staff to investigate. If the PM box is filled with spam, then it will be more difficult for staff to concentrate on the situations which actually need their attention. Please keep this in mind when reporting editors. Thank you!

What is a Problem Editor?

A problem editor can mean different things, but here is a list of the most common problems we come across:

Rejects valid submissions: Editors who reject valid submissions to add or correct data, including credit transfer submissions, and necessary punctuation, capitalization, and spelling

Rejects submissions and resubmits: An editor rejects valid submissions and resubmits them as his/her own

Rejecting submissions with no reason: All rejections must be accompanied with at least a brief explanation of the reason for rejection

Abusing users: Editors who are abusive to the users in their forum or make abusive comments to users after accepting/rejecting submissions

Imposing strict guidelines on forum: Official episode, specific topic, and Q&A threads are allowed at editor's discretion and within reason, and should be created and approved by the editor when possible; Users should be allowed to create threads if no other TOS violation or duplication occurs

Posting or accepting invalid submissions: Adding new episodes without 2-out-of-3 of title/airdate/summary, accepting TBA as a Summary, adding non-existent episodes, plagiarizing material from other sites, placing Trivia or Notes in the wrong section

Misusing a show/person Editor's Blog: Editor's blog should be about the show or guide they edit and never to announce personal information such as Editor's birthday, opinion of the show/person, unrelated links, advertising, etc.

Gaming: Accumulating excessive numbers of CPs by unnecessary repeated editing of the same material, splitting common items that should go as a single Trivia/Note into multiple separate items, deleting and re-adding material, etc.

Thanks for making this account, it'll make it a whole lot easier to deal with problem editors.

Yeah I agree with tvaddict_10. I know a certain editor who locks topics for no reason... But I'm not going to mention his name.

Hopefully people will use this account properly and not report silly problems.

Also, for the notes/trivia thing, a lot of editors including myself are currently correcting their guides due to recent confusion regarding the guidelines for this in the Editor's Lounge.

HAAAAAAALELUJAH!!

Hopefully, some of the less worthy editors will either shape up or get their walking papers.

The only problem that I see with this is that most of the people don't try to work with the editors to try and resolve the problems. They will see this as a quick easy way out because they can use this as the annonomous way of tattling because they had their entries rejected because they didn't check their facts or they have too many things wrong with it that it had to be rejected. Granted it's a good idea but has it been tested or is this the test run.
I mean how many times have something new been tried and it not worked out?

Nice... We'll see what is going to happen.

I had an abusive editor, acted very rude in the comments calling some of my submissions completely unnecessary when other shows have things like what I submitted accepted. I didn't save any of the PMs though, and I don't know if it was the editor or not. Habit of reading and deleting.
