Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Billy Mays, and Karl Malden...Wow, how sad, how close, how soon. We have lost so many so soon, so recently. It really causes one's head to spin. I find myself saying, How sad, when up pops another one. It just goes to show how very precious life is and how nothing is promised so we do have to make the most of each day. My heart and Prayers go out to the loved ones of each of the persons whom have named and I hope that each of them has gone on to a better place.

Another gorgeous Spring day. I am going to get spoiled . But I want to jot something down, while I am thinking about it, before it slips away (again). I'd like to talk about kindness and consideration for a moment. Earlier this morning, something ran across the bottom of the television screen, in that ticker tape way that information does. To be honest, I can't remember what it even was, though I'm sure it will come to me shortly, I just know that I remember saying, "Oh wow how cool. I need to share this with someone." So I thought of the 2 people whom it would interest the most and looked at the clock. I figured one would be working out at the gym and the other would either be at work, on the way, or just leaving home. (They both live in other states). So I decided to call the 2nd one. The phone rang a couple of times and I was greeted with a "Growl" of, "I'm drrrrriving, what?" Well I apologized and explained that I only wanted to share something I had just seen on TV and that it would only take a moment. I told them what it was and hurriedly hung up. That got me to thinking...

We really have become a strange little society of busy, multi-tasking, each man in his own world selves, sometimes. I couldn't see through the phone, as I am so fond of saying, so I would have no way of knowing what someone was doing until they told me, but it's not so much "What a we do, as How we do it," and there is a way to let someone know that you are busy without a loud growl. I mean, I got the growl before I even had the chance to ask, "Ya got a sec?" I pride myself in being courtesy and I generally ask if a person is busy, for that reason. Oh well. I did give 'em Hell later and told them that I can not see through a phone so give me a break and if you are busy don't answer and call when you can talk or don't be so grumpy when ya do answer. We laughed it off later. But people remember this, "We are all busy and trying to survive these days, so let's try and be a bit kinder and more tolerant of others and not so caught up in our own little worlds that we don't have empathy for others.

Have A Great One!

Today is an absolutely gorgeous day after a long, long, long, winter. I'm not saying it won't get cold again bacause here in Michigan, it probably will, but I am saying that we had the longest winter that we've had in many a year and today is the kind of day that makes you want to fling open the windows and doors to air out the house. Once that is done, it would be nice to curl up and watch a good movie. Maybe I'll do just that. I have a stack of DVDs that I haven't touched so perhaps I'll find a good one, pop some popcorn and settle in to watch...Sounds like a plan. Happy Spring Day People .

The Towering Inferno
This is a good movie. It's one I see over and over and over, practically everytime it comes on. I can honestly say that it still holds it's own and can still keep you on the edge of your seat. Even the special effects still hold up in this day and...

The Devil and Daniel Johnston
"What an Odd little movie." What a good documentary. I stumbled upon this movie during a bout of insomnia. Although I caught it from the beginning, at first I thought, "How strange..." However, something captivated me enough to...

Marilyn Hotchkiss' Ballroom Dancing and Charm School
What a wonderful movie. Both Robert Carlyle & John Goodman give very powerful performances, as do the great supporting cast, which includes, Mary Steenburgen, Marissa Tomei, David Paymer, Adam Arkin, to name a few. This poignant movie held my...

G
This is a cleverly entertaining Hip-Hop take on the novel, The Great Gatsby. Richard T. Jones does a magnificent job as the brooding Summer G, a self-made millionaire, mogul, (like Jay Gatsby) who carries a deep torch for the love of his life Skye...

The Women
This is one of my favorite movies. I literally see it everytime it comes on that I am able to, and I own not 1 but 2 copies. Norma Shearer is wonderful, as is Rosalind Russell, Joan Crawford, and each of the women in this cast. I love the fact...
