Hello everyone! Nice to see you all once again!

So as you all probably already know, school has started for me (it started on September 8th) so I haven't quite been blogging as much and don't expect me to make blog posts too frequently for a while since school is proving to be somewhat busy and I don't have much free time. It's the weekend though so I have time to make an update.

I've been liking Grade 10 so far. I've been learning quite a bit and things have gone well for my first week. As some of you know, I posted my schedule two blogs ago so I thought I might add some impressions as to what I think so far of my classes (since I don't have much else to blog about )

Principles of Mathematics: Blech, I have to start the day of with Math. This class isn't that bad and I have a somewhat good grasp of things so far (especially since everything for the first week is pretty much a review of Grade 9 stuff) but this is the class where I get the most homework. We get around 40+ questions to do everyday and I'm not looking forward to going into the more complex stuff. Still, you can't really escape from Math in life since it's necessary in a lot of things so I'll just deal with it.

Christ and Culture: Yeah, like I mentioned before, I go to a Catholic school so I have to take a religion-centered course once a year. I'm not really liking this class that much so far. Not only is it pretty boring so far but I'm finding some of the students to be rather annoying. I still have to see how things go and whether or not my teacher does well at teaching or not.

English: I love this class. I honestly find doing some writing assignments fun and we started with the short story unit, reviewing literary devices, and blah blah blah, the usual Reading stories and myths is interesting for me so I'm looking forward to seeing more of this class.

Civics: Well, this is an interesting class. I actually had no idea what Civics even was before coming into this class >_> but the teacher explained that it's studying the rights and citizenship of a nation and stuff like that. Some of the stuff is interesting I guess, but my teacher is the really odd and interesting one. He really likes to stare at people and stares at me from time to time. It doesn't make me uncomfortable though so I just stare back at him and we have some staring contest for a few seconds He also talks to us about comic books, Spider-Man, Batman, The Lord of the Rings, the Wii (which he hates his wife and son decide all the games for him to get though and they get stuff like Lego Batman and Wii Fit. I'll have to introduce him to No More Heroes and Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition), his experiences from his younger years, and random stuff like that. I'm amazed we actually get anything done with how off-topic he strays but I guess I don't mind.

Well, there you go. I know it's not the most interesting topic but I thought I might as well share what I think so far of the classes I've been having this semester.

In other more game related news, I got myself Shadow of the Colossus!

wrrte

First impressions of the game so far are great. I'm not really too familiar with what the story is all about and everything since the beginning was kind of confusing but I really like the game. The isolated and desolate atmosphere that this game has is really effective since it really seems like it's just your character, his horse, and the colossi out there in the land this game takes place in. I also like how the game controls when you ride the horse (I believe his name was Agro or something like that). He's a bit difficult to control and unstable at times but he's much faster than you are. Kind of like a real horse!

Of course, the best parts so far are definitely the colossi battles. Scaling them and slaying them is tons of fun (well, until they die and you start feeling sorry for them of course). The music that plays during the encounters with them is amazing as well! I really need to look up the composer and see if he's done any other works. Anyway, I'm only up to the big flying bird colossus so far (I think it's the 4th or 5th one, I forgot) so I still have quite a way to go, but I'll try to finish as much of the game as possible soon.

Well, that's all for now! I'll talk to you all some other time.

ah Shadow of the Colossus...I dont have good expiriences with that game, after telling my friend that I didnt really like the game, she insulted me because it was the favorite game of her boyfriend though she never layed this game lol I wonder.

Math is horrible! But I guess it really is necessary, as you said.. "Christ and Culture" sounds boring, too!

I too enjoy English and Civics, but I started Civics way earlier than you, at grade 7! Your teacher seems really awesome, though! Reminds me of my Physics teach, he keeps praising some games' physics engines and WoW, Pokemon etc. Guess some teachers are human too.

Shadow of the Colossus is awesome! Pretty short, but Team Ico knows their stuff! The atmosphere and combat speed are perfect! Such an epic game, can't wait for The Last Guardian! Looking forward to your further impressions upon finishing the game.

Cool. I might pick up Shadow of Colossus too

@mitu123: Shadow of the Colossus is indeed awesome

@Shinobi-Neo: Aw, that's not very nice of your friend. It's alright if you don't like it, I can certainly see why some people wouldn't I don't understand why she insulted you for not liking it though when it's the favourite game of her BOYFRIEND. I mean, she hasn't even played it

@HavQ-san: Yeah, Math is necessary and the first two years of our Religion is very boring and straightforward. At least in Grade 11 and 12 we get to learn about World Religions and stuff which is at least more interesting. It sounds like you had an awesome Physics teacher I don't think my Civics one is that much of an aficionado though. Epic is the perfect word for Shadow of the Colossus Speaking of Team Ico, I really need to get their first game.

@jaykho123: You should! I definitely recommend it

yeah, I guess I shouldnt say anything about any game cause this was too much trouble because of one game. I just didnt prefer it, telling your opinion is always risky, its funny how people change sites, another funny thing is that I actually made an opinion after seing the gameplay, reading reviews and so on, "almost reasonable" opinion..lol

I hear Shadow is really good. I would hate to have Math first thing.

Yeah, ever since school started I've been on less too. Math is usually easy for me too, but yeah, that's where I get the most homework. It's usually something that just takes longer than it should -.- Having annoying classmates can really kill a class for me

Your civics teacher sounds interesting My business teacher would always have us talk about the news and stuff and be off topic 90% of the time.

Nobody likes my opinion on Shadow of the Colossus and Team ICO, so I'll keep my mouth shut Good luck in school, and hope you keep enjoying Colossus ^.^

I was good at math for a little while, but my skills started to fade away around my last few years of high school. Now that I'm in college, I use geometry whenever I draw (they look like designs from the PS2/GCN/XBOX era, if you think about it in that way). This is basically my way of drawing since I think the polygonal look is unique to me.

Anyway, that's an interesting (yet odd) story about your Civics c1ass.

I'm also liking my Civics class, only because it's pretty damn simple.

A short story unit? Man, I wish my school had had cool stuff like that. Instead it was just: read, discuss; read, discuss; read, discuss..... Sooooooo boring

A lot of people will go on and on and on about how great they think SotC is. I am one of those people, but I'll let everyone else tell you what they think of it. In the end, it just has to resonate with you in just the right way, just like a movie or book that you love.

You civics teacher kinda sounds like my American History teacher. Although we don't really get stuff done in that class, he just talks about random crap. Thursday we actually stayed on subject for awhile.

Also Shadow of the Colossus is amazing. It's one of my favorite games. Get ICO too. And the music is amazing too, I put some of it on my ipod.

lol I would feel pretty uncomfortable if a teacher stared at me for that long. School doesn't seem so bad for you, so consider yourself lucky.

Shadow of the Colossus is the kind of game that could make me play a Sony's console. IF I had more money to buy another console aside my Wii and if PS3 had BC...
Posted Sep 12, 2009 5:33 pm PT
hahahah SOPHOMORE!

blah... I really don't like school. @.@ I have too much work
Posted Sep 12, 2009 8:53 pm PT
I would probably have trouble staying awake for the first 2 I enjoyed English as well and I've never heard of Civics before either.
Posted Sep 14, 2009 10:24 am PT
man I have wanted to play Shadow of Colossus for so long...I need to get my hands on a copy.
Posted Sep 14, 2009 6:20 pm PT
Awesome game from beginning to end, and really emotive as well. What other game has ever made you feel like a jerk for killing its bosses? I thought to myself when I killed the 1st colossus "What have I done?!" Seriously, this game is a masterpiece.
Posted Sep 17, 2009 3:34 am PT
Shadow of Colossus is a game besides ICO which I want to so BADLY play. I think one day I might just get a PS2 for that.

Ah yes... school. The bane of my existence.

It sounds like your sophomore year is going ok. I feel your pain with the whole "you go to a religious school so theology classes are mandatory" thing. Principles of Mathematics sounds like a pain, but it probably beats Calculus any day of the week. Civics sounds like fun. Make sure to tell your Civics teacher about MadWorld and Muramasa: The Demon Blade while you're at it too.

Shadow of the Colossus... what a gem. So vibrant... Team Ico can craft some truly great masterpieces. Makes me wish that I had a PS3 so I could get The Last Guardian...

Take it easy brobopass. STAY AWAY FROM DRUGS!

Also, you rated metroid prime 2 lower then 1?

What the hell? prime 2 introduced the screw attack in 3d!

I'm taking English, math, and Japanese. The first day I went to class I had some Asian chick come up to me and asked "Do you like being white?" That girl is crazy as hell.

Obstacles you must clear to reach your goals. I hope you're working hard, it will pay off later. Best Regards

I had no idea you were only in Grade 10. I read your review for Perona 2: Innocent Sin and it was so excellent I wanted to track your profile. You write very eloquently and articulately, especially for someone in Grade 10.
