Whew. Sorry this is five days late. A lot's been going on for me this week. One of them being the fact that I got a job! Yay!

Anyway, this week's episode of The Amazing Race was actually exciting (though the cast still isn't). It began with the seven remaining teams, fresh off Lance and Keri's elimination, resuming their journey through Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Cheyne was still wary of Meghan's tendencies to panic in stressful situations.

Upon leaving the Pit Start, each team was tasked with choosing one of seven briefcases, which they'd need for the Roadblock, which saw one person getting into a small raft, paddling out to a yacht in a harbor, going aboard for a watch, and paddling back to the shore. Once back, they'd have to figure out that the time on the watch, 8:35, was also the combination to their briefcases, which contained their next clue. Cheyne, Tiffany, Dan, Brian, Gary, Big Easy, and Canaan all took the task for their teams, with only Big Easy struggling with the task . . . and long after every team in front of his and Flight Time's had finished the task! He finally got it, though, and they were off to try and catch up, while other teams like Sam and Dan and Mika and Canaan were optimistic that it was a good chance to get the Globetrotters, a strong team, eliminated from the race.

The Detour was a choice between Gold and Glass. Gold involved using Dubai's gold exchange rate to determine how many pieces of gold would equal $5,000. But it came with a twist -- every few minutes, the exchange rate would change, so the teams would have to work quickly. Glass involved going to a market and assembling twelve different glass hookahs to match up with some already-set examples. They'd have to match them exactly for the task to be complete. Maria and Tiffany and Sam and Dan all chose and completed Gold, with Maria's expertise at mathematics, combined with a calculator Sam and Dan had brought along (but didn't know how to use correctly!), helping them out a lot . Meghan and Cheyne, Gary and Matt, and Mika and Canaan all chose and completed Glass. Brian and Ericka initially picked Gold, but switched to Glass due to their frustration with the constantly-changing exchange rates, as well as not having a calculator with which to do the math involved in the task. Flight Time and Big Easy initially picked Glass, but upon finding out that it took most of the teams a long time to finish the task (when they got there, they saw that Brian and Ericka had spent two hours trying to finish it), they switched to Gold, which they finished quickly.

The final task of the leg saw the teams going to a waterpark behind a famous hotel in Dubai and taking a slide down the Leap of Faith, a waterslide that, once at the bottom, took the teams through an actual shark tank before depositing them in a splashdown pool. While it seemed pretty straightforward and not much of a position changer, in actuality, this task changed everything, as while six teams did the task with next to no hesitation, Mika and Canaan would have serious problems. It was a high waterslide, and Mika was afraid of both heights and water and refused to go down the slide, no matter how much begging, pleading, appealing, or even forcing Canaan did. They were up at the top of the slide for a long time. Long enough, in fact, for Flight Time and Big Easy, who'd been left a long way behind due to Big Easy's Roadblock struggle, to catch up and, after Mika had to give up her place at the top of the slide, pass right by them.

In the end, Meghan and Cheyne, mainly due to no real equalizers appearing on the leg, kept the lead they'd obtained from the Fast Forward and finished first for the second time in a row (and the third time overall)! They each won a watercraft as their prize. Maria and Tiffany working hard at the Gold Detour helped them really jump up in the ranks, as they came in second place, much to their delight. Sam and Dan, due to the luck of Maria and Tiffany showing up to help them, arrived in third place. Brian and Ericka, after their Detour switch and difficulties with the Glass Detour, landed on the mat in fourth place. Gary and Matt held steady, finishing in sixth place. This left things down to Flight Time and Big Easy and Mika and Canaan. And mainly due to the abovementioned waterslide incident with Mika, Flight Time and Big Easy maintained their position in the race, clocking in sixth place. This left Mika and Canaan, the former of whom ultimately didn't go down the slide, to finish last . . . and be eliminated.

This ending was definitely a good one. I really liked Mika and Canaan early on (mainly for Mika), but this episode showed their true colors. Hers, in particular. Canaan was shown to be an aggressive, bullying ass to his own girlfriend, and was a douchebag, in general, on top of it. However, I still felt horrible for him to go out this way. This loss was mainly, if not entirely, on his useless girlfriend, Mika. This race is about facing your fears and conquering them. But instead of at least trying to do that for the sake of her teammate and for the sake of a million dollars, Mika let her fears conquer her, and they wound up eliminated because of it. She said she felt like she'd let Canaan down. Um, Mika? Honey? You DID let him down! You two were supposed to be a team, and you blew things for the team by yelling, crying, screaming, and throwing temper tantrums on that slide instead of just sucking it up and going down it. Five or six seconds were all it would've taken. Five or six seconds! You had a good lead on the Globetrotters and were just as good as safe on this leg, and you blew it by being a total coward! Whether this beats Jen's impromptu, game-ending potty break from last season, I'm not sure. But it might be close. So long, Mika and Canaan. Sorry the race had to end this way for you, Canaan. But you got what you richly deserved, Mika!

In other news, I was very glad to see Flight Time and Big Easy squeak through! Mika wussing out on the waterslide was their saving grace and a HUGE instance of luck, and I'm glad they got that break! They're my only favorite team, aside from Meghan and Cheyne, Maria and Tiffany, and Gary and Matt. So I don't want them gone just yet.

Once more, here's the order in which everyone finished:

#1. Meghan and Cheyne (Prize: One Watercraft Each)
#2. Maria and Tiffany
#3. Sam and Dan
#4. Brian and Ericka
#5. Gary and Matt
#6. Flight Time and Big Easy
#7. Mika and Canaan (Did Not Complete Final Task; ELIMINATED)

Six teams remain. Who'll be eliminated next week? We'll see then!

I cannot believe that Mika didn't want to go down that slide. They have one similiar to that at Walt Disney World, so I would be like "bring it on" and after checking in at the Pit Stop, I would go on it again. Also, I cannot believe that a grown woman would wear water wings on a waterslide. My daughter stopped wearing them at like age 8...and she would only wear them then to go off the diving board. After 14 + seasons, Mika should know that she show would consist of task involving water and/or height task and if she had a problem, she should not have applied. After this season, the producers need to do psych test on the contestants.

Agreed. And I can't believe I forgot to note the water wings!

That is what you get for not completing a task. And tha your race will end like that. Mika showed real fear and that she really couldn't do it. At least Flight Time and Big Easy are in the game. I like those guys. As they seem like cool guys to hang out with. Six more teams left. Later!

You could've said more than that, but whatever. Thanks for the comment!

I saw the ending of this episode. Im so happy Flgiht Time and Big Easy were able to save themselves though. I was so torn on the situation, I agreed that Canaan was being a douche, but omg Mika seriously. Like i could see her having a panic attack if she was having to bunjee jump or sky dive, but just going down a slide into shallow water? IDK whatever, she definitly lost that one for them. I dont think they would have ever made it to the finale, but you never know I guess. But im much happier with Flight time and big easy staying.

They never would've made it to the end, but they at least would've made it to decoy territory had Mika sucked it up and slid.
