Well last night one of my homies was over so we played some videogames. I logged in a ton of hours of Castle of Shikigami 3, and played a lil bit of Alien Soldier and Bonk's Adventure (ick).

Castle of Shikigami 3

Wow, I was really impressed with this one. I ended up playing it for 5 hours last night, and 2 more this morning, and I'll prolly log some more in before I have to bring it back tonight. The first thing you notice is awesome diversity in the characters. There are ten in all, and you choose them like you would in a fighting game. Then you're presented with the hilarious dialogue. It is so bad that it's great. Some times they talk about how ridiculous the story is, and how it's all an arcade game. It's great, bizarre, and basically amazing. At first, I was disappointed with the level of difficulty, I breezed thuogh the first two levels on normal, and I honestly couldn't find a difference between that and very hard. Thankfully, level 3 grabs you by the balls and won't let go. It stays nice and challenging until th bazillion part final boss which makes it near impossible. Overall, it's a lot of fun, and it's definitely going on my b-day list .

Alien Soldier

At first, I was really confused with the control scheme, but once you get used to it, it's a lot of fun to take on the bosses. They do feel pretty easy, and aren't extremely inspired for the first few levels, so I was getting worried. At around 15, though, they get really cool, and tough. You start facing multi-part bosses, and it really gets intense. I'm stuck on level 20 with 14 tries, yea it's hard, but I'm still having fun. A great buy overall, highly recommended.

Bonk's Adventure

Well this was one of the first VC games I got, thanks to Nintendo Power always raving about it. Thanks a lot Nintendo Power... I really hate this game. I played it last night so I could finally beat it. It's really hard, though, and I don't see how Gamespot can call it easy. Hopefully I'll beat it eventually so I can put it to rest for good. Ick, what a terrible game...
