Alright, after well over a year on GameSpot I have decided it's time to get my official "top ten" list out to the public. Before anyone bashes this list and says that some other games should have been on the list, take into consideration that this is my opinion and not yours, I probably have a different taste in games than most people on GameSpot might.
10. Super Smash Bros. (N64)

I remember playing this game with my friends for countless hours back when it first came out. My goal in this game after long enough was to acheive over 1000 kills with each character by playing Vs Mode with my friends, and I am glad to say that it was acheived a short time before my focus had shifted to Melee. This was the probably the best party game I have ever played for the N64 and is still a great game to pick up today, I know for sure that with Melee and Brawl as well as any other sequels that might come out in the future, none of them will likely have the same fun factor and memories that came from this game.
9. Mario Kart: Double Dash (GC)

Mario Kart Double Dash was a very big risk for Nintendo to make, but it hit it off as one of the top selling Game Cube games ever made for it's uniqueness to the series. The two person karts added a wider variety to the choices of how you will race, as well as plenty of karts to choose from and some of the best race courses in the series. Double Dash brought in some elements to the series that were mimicked in the DS game (such as the wide variety of karts to play with) and some that will most likely return in the Wii game next year. Double Dash stands today as one of the most enjoyable games on the Game Cube and without a doubt the best Mario Kart game I have ever played.
8. Pokemon Red / Blue (GB)

The original Pokemon games, does everyone remember the days of these games? They were everywhere back in elementary school. Everyone in my school had a Game Boy back then, even if it was just to play these games. There were plenty of us that would play these games during free time and even talk about what we were doing. I remember vaguely our own little "Pokemon Leagues" between friends which only added to the thrill to "become the best." Without a doubt the Pokemon series as a whole has exploded since then, but nothing will ever top the fun of playing the originals back when they were first released.
7. Paper Mario (N64)
Hilarious characters, great story, and a battle system that still works today. The main draw to Paper Mario today would be the fact that the battles still hold up well today and that the story is something worth playing through. The comedy in this game is all around if you look for it, surprisingly there is a lot of depth for a Mario game and it is nothing short of a must have. Paper Mario has evolved greatly since the N64, and to some fans in a not very appealing way (Super Paper Mario). The original may not have the same complex battles as The Thousand Year Door, but the story in this game is enough to keep you going and even coming back later for more.
6. Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES)
I know what a lot of you are thinking right now, "WTF is this guy talking about, this game sucked!" Well to those people, shame on you. Super Mario Bros 2 has been looked down upon for a long time as being some stupid japanese game with Mario tacked on. Without this game, the Mario series would not have had many characters that we have come to enjoy as "Mario" characters, from Shy Guy to Birdo, this game may not have had the Goombas or Koopas Mario is known for, but it did help bring in a whole new onslaught of characters. This was my first game that I ever played, and as such Super Mario Bros 2 is well worth an effort to play even today. Those that are still turned off because it is different, that is fine, but like it or not Super Mario Bros 2 is one of the most unique Mario games ever created.
5. Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal (PS2)
Sadly I no longer have a PS2 so I can no longer enjoy this great game the way I did a few years ago. Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal brings Ratchet and his trusty pal Clank on a mission to help their friends from the evil Dr. Nefarias. No matter if you prefer playing first person or third person, this game delivered an exciting experience and a vast amount of weapons to choose from. I will admt that other than Ratchet: Deadlocked, this is the only Ratchet and Clank I have ever played, but I personally can not wait to see what the future has in store for this franchise.
4. Megaman Battle Network 3 (GBA)

The Megaman Battle series had its high point with these games in my opinion. The battle system was always the same in this series no matter which game you played, the only difference was the battle chips that the games had in them. The story in these games was one of the most advanced as well as one that actually made sense. It had plot twists throughout, as well as some moments that could get, dare I say, teary. Though the series overall is not very complex, Battle Network 3 had a very advanced and complex story for what is aimed at the younger crowd.
3. Bomberman '93 (TG16)

The Bomberman name has not done very well in a long time. Bombeman '93 is one of the greatest party games ever made, somehow it just is a lot of fun when five people blow each other up with an uncountable number of bombs. This game is still great today if you can find enough people to play with on multiplayer and at times will be the game of choice for when a group of friends are gathered at one house. Bomberman '93 is now available on the Wii Virtual Console for 600 points, it might seem high for a game that would be so much better online with voice chat, but Bomberman is still worthy of a few explosive gatherings with friends.
2. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
I will admit here and now that until this game was released on the Wii Virtual Console I had never played it. That being said, it is one of the greatest games I have ever played, easily making the number 2 slot. The game immediately starts you off in a dungeon not to far from where Link has his home. Ocarina of Time should have a place in the home of every gamer whether it is on the N64, GC, or Wii. The greatest Zelda game ever created with an immersive story and vast world, should not be missed out on.
1. Super Mario World (SNES)
A game that should need no introduction, Super Mario World has to my knowledge the most levels of any other 2D Mario Platformer. Super Mario World introduced us to Yoshi as Mario's trusty sidekick and created some staples of the franchise today (including Peach being blonde). With so many different levels and enemies to defeat this is to many the greatest Mario game created and hopefully others would agree the best game ever created, period. The game had many secrets to it including a palette swap changing the overall look of the game from a summer green to an autumn brown, not to mention the infamous "Top Secret Zone" which every gamer should already know about anyway. The difficulty can be fairly high in the later levels for a game of its time, but because of that it can still stand today as the great game it is.
