I feel akin to a rickety vessel being tossed to and fro from one frothy wave to the next. I am almost torn asunder by the wealth of games that have been released over the last couple of months. It seems that by the time I start falling into my groove in one game another quickly comes along, and I end up dropping everything for the new title. Some I finish, others just sit gathering dust till their time comes back around again.

I work full time as well as go to school full time, so my gaming solace is limited; however, I do manage to play through quite a few titles. I purchased inFAMOUS and Prototype when they came out, but soon after Batman and Red Faction came out and then the Fallout 3 expansions, so I was only able to finish inFAMOUS while Prototype now sits silently, gathering dust. Don't get me wrong Prototype is awesome! I've just been so overwhelmed with all of the new games coming out that I haven't had the time to go back to it yet.

I barely beat Borderlands before I picked up my copy of Uncharted 2, and before that I was dying consistently and constantly via Demon's Souls. (By the way Uncharted 2 is awesome!)

Then on top of those few AAA titles that I was able to nab before my wife put the kibosh my gaming purchases (due to Christmas and my November birthday) Assassin's Creed 2, Assassin's Creed Bloodlines, Little Big Planet Portable, Modern Warfare 2, Dragon Age Origins, and the God of War collection have released, which of course wets my appetite for even more spectacular gaming experiences that I cannot yet indulge in.

Then there are the games being released over the next couple of months, like the Saboteur, Darksiders, Dante's Inferno, Bioshock 2, and stretching into March/April God of War III. I've already go my pre-order down for Darksiders and God of War III Ultimate Edition.

And in tribute to Barney Stintson the last couple and the next couple of months of gaming are going to be...legend...wait for it...dary!

Lately, I've been playing InFamous and Prototype, which are both consuming my attention fully at the moment. They are both great games, and I'm having a blast playing them. I just finished InFamous last night and I'm still compelled to play it (that's the sign of a good title...for me at least). Also, I'll probably be picking of Red Faction: Guerrilla within' the next couple of days (I loved the prior two).

However, during the midst of all my flashy, new to the shelf gaming experiences I recently started playing Super Mario World on my SNES again. Super Mario Word even after all these years still equally holds my attention amongst InFamous and Prototype. I've beaten it fully at least a dozen times, but man do I still love playing it. Also, I purchased Final Fantasy VII off of the PSN, so that I could play it on my PSP. I've been playing it pretty regularly and it still holds the exact same charm as it it did 10 years ago when I bought my hard copy from a friend and first experienced a Final Fantasy game.

Even with all these stellar new releases, which are good games now and will most-likely be remembered as great games...games such as Super Mario World and Final Fantasy VII are already cemented in gaming history. I think if you can pick up and older title from five, ten, or even twenty years ago and still play it and love it that's the sign of a truly great game.

Man, I absolutely love the old 2D platformers...I mean I still have all of my old systems up and running and I play them as regularly as I do my PS3, sometimes more! I wish that a developer would make start making new 2D games...and not just for handle helds. I want a full on Sonic & Knuckles II available to download or buy for my PS3. It would be so cool to start making new 2D games for the modern gaming scene. That could totally be a studio's niche market too.

A guy can hope...

Some people just don't have opinions. Like Peabody99224.
Peabody99224 must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could Peabody99224 possibly have for not rating a single film?
