I know what your thinking right now... Man, WERE IN 2010, WERE 2 MONTHS IN AND U HAVENT DECIDED UR GOTY YET?!? Well exactly, I haven't until now.... 2009 was just so awesome that it took me 2 more months to really think about it, and my verdict?

MODERN WARFARE 2

I know your not shocked... but nothing really comes close to this game for me the only games that come close are Uncharted 2 and inFamous! For me, inFamous was so gonna take it until I got to playing this game! The Single Player Campaign alone made it eligible to be in my GOTY nominees list! The Multiplayer made it Win! And the Spec-ops made it rise to one of my favorite games of all-time! How can a game that is worth $60 have such an AMAZING PACKAGE, thats what shocks me... Everything is just top-notch! Imean with Uncharted 2 the single player aspect is AMAZING & the Multiplayer was just great... But in Modern Warfare all 3 modes are incredible! And this is what motivating me to get a Platinum Trophy! How close am I getting to my goal? Pretty close

Now just for the record these are my GOTY winners of this gen! (Bought my PS3 in 200

2008 - Bioshock

2009 - Modern Warfare 2

Till now The FPS genre is really amping up its game, and each game just pushes the envelope even more!!! But I have a feeling 2010 wont be the case as not too many shooters are getting released for 2010 except Bioshock 2 which looks AMAZING!! Heres the hoping for another great year!

Ok, right now im taking a break from college! 2nd course begins in Feb 21st.. so to keep me busy I've downloaded a couple of demo's... (couple?!? I meant alot) 9!!! Here are my verdicts:

1- Gran Turismo 5: Time Trial Challenge

Ok its been a long time I've played any GT game, and going back to this was really hard.... The visuals are great, the controls are tight, but I gotta say 2 words... I SUCK! No I do... I kept crashing the whole time, I had ZERO control over the car half of the time, for me it was one of the worst gaming experiences!! Let me make this clear, its the worst cause I was bad, and not the game! The game is actually FANTASTIC! but I still don't get why people play these racing games.

8/10

2- Bayonetta

Before this game gets released there were alot of critics praising the game (Famitsu's 40/40) and many saying it was one of the best action games of all-time, and some actually went even further and said that this game surpasssed the God of War & Devil May Cry games!!! (Ryan Clements from IGN, Shame on you!) anyways after playing the demo, I think its safe to say this is actually really good, and could be a potential GOTY nominee.. (if people can remember it by then ) The demo was actually one of the best demos I've played! does it surpass Kratos & Dante? Dante sure, Kratos... I dont know, that part of the demo could be the lowest point in the game, and it could be the highest (I doubt it) so I can't really judge.. But GOW3 is being released in less than 2 months and the titan screenshots surpass every game I've ever seen! (If we were to talk about scale, visuals ofcourse...) I think Ill wait for GOTY 2010 for the answer!

9/10

3- Fat Princess

So this might be a compliment I dont know, but this is a really funny game, very much like LittleBigPlanet! I can see the sense of humor... This game in my opinion is good, not the best game in history, definitely not AAA but its good for a DLC game! But there is one thing that worries me about this game, I feel its very time consuming... I mean I once played a round for 1.5 hours and still going! maybe its because Im playing with the myself and its controlled by AI... I don't know, has anyone bought this game? if so, how long does it take you to finish 1 match?

7/10

4- Dark Void

Have you ever played a demo where its fun at first but then gets crappy in the end? Well thats Dark Void! The whole flying part was really fun, was a different experience... thats for sure, but when you start playing on the ground, and takecover and shoot! The whole experience goes down the drain for me. It was really frustrating actually that I actually kept screaming at the screen, the shooting is NOT fun (opposite of Uncharted & Gears) it sucks, and at the end of the day, this game deserves every bad review it gets! You know what was the most annoying thing? The game had SO MUCH potential...

5.5/10

5- Dante's Inferno

I feel so bad for this game right now to tell you the truth, the developes are so insane to release this right before GOW3! The demo was good, cut-scenes were top-notch, combat was great! had very similar feeling to GOW3, but the problem for me was probably the atmosphere of the game... Hell, his wife! the enemies, it kinda disgusts you in a way and you wanna stop in the middle, but i thankfully finished it! This game like Darksiders is great, but I don't see it winning many awards or shock people the same way as Dead Space did... I could be wrong! (but I very much doubt it)

7.5/10

6- Army of Two: The 40th Day

This demo actually surprised me, it was actually better than I thoght, the game has its flaws but its much better than its predecessor in every way! But, I think the AI was a bit difficult in this one.. Plus make sure you play with someone whos really good as this demo is Co-op only! dont be an idiot like me and let your immature young brother play with you! I actually couldn't finish this demo because he was messing around, but it was really good!

8/10

7- God of War III

I actually can't believe I got this demo, props to the official GOW forums for providing me with a code This demo is actually really incredible! Im not saying this because im a GOW fanboy but, the demo is long, longer than most demos! It sums up the GOW Experience in 15 minutes which is pretty hard to do... The visuals are incredible, but I gotta say watching the demo over 5 times on youtube messed up the demo for me, but I'm glad that GOW3 very much feels like its predecessors! at the end of the day thats what counts for me! Oh, and one last thing... the Cestus are freaking AWESOME!

9/10

8- Brutal Legend

ummm... intresting! I kinda don't know what to say about this one, its good the controls feel abit clunky, and the imagination of Tim Schafer is pretty disturbing! But overall, I enjoyed it.. I gotta give props to Jack Black, hes pretty funny in the cut-scenes and actually fits into the charactar! Plus I like the idea of a metallic age whatever! seems cool and best of all, the soundtrack rocks!

8.5/10

Need for Speeed: Shift

I liked this demo, but the whole thing of a NFS Game being a simulator didnt really appeal to me.. Am I the only one who didnt like the idea? guess not, the sales kinda show that! but I think its better than the last few NFS games! Its actually fun... Also props to the people behind the visuals, the interior of the car looks really realistic actually!

7/10

These Verdicts are solely based on Demos and not the actual game! Tons of really good games have bad demos such as inFAMOUS, but they turn out to be amazing! so these are reviews on the demos and not on the actual games! Just wanted to make that clear!

This article belongs to Destructoid... Just wanted to share the epicness of GOW3!

God of War III's Titan gameplay drops jaws photo

At a Sony product event last month, SCE Santa Monica Director of Product Development John Hight stood quietly in front of a demo station located in the back of the publisher's rented New York City space.

The game he's demoing is paused, but the font and ****of the menus betray what it is -- it's unmistakably God of War III. Admittedly, half of the reason I even decided to leave my blogger cave was because Sony promised it would be showing off some of new God of War III material. I play dumb.

"So what's this you've got here?"

Hight plays modest. It's, as expected, God of War III. He explains that they really don't have too much to show off today, that they only brought a small new demo area. My heart sinks. I put on pants this morning for a small demo? Hight hits start on his DualShock 3 and he begins the short demo; I wasn't really prepared for what came next.

Full disclosure: I'm what you'd call a God of War "fanboy." While I admit that the games have their flaws, that first experience battling the Hydra on the Aegean Sea still stands as one of the most epic and unexpected moments in gaming. With God of War II, Sony did it again -- the opening sequence battling the Colossus in the City of Rhodes was a breathtaking way to kick off the game's action. When you've delivered some of the most awe-inspiring battles and action sequences in your given genre, where do you go from there? What Hight was about to show me would deliver, exceeding expectations for a next-gen God of War experience.

The demo begins in the middle of a sequence, with no cut-scene and little context given. Kratos stands in what appears to be a forest, and Hight points out the impressive visual touches hinted at in the E3 demo: dynamic shadows that dance across the environment, leaves being kicked up by wind, and grass that is stamped down with Kratos' every footstep. The ground rocks and shakes; in the distance, a battle appears to be in progress. Hight explains that everything I'm seeing in both the foreground and the background is fully modeled, rendered in real time. Unlike previous titles, there's no trickery here; the team's taking advantage of the PlayStation 3 hardware to bring everything to life.

Up until this point, despite how gorgeous the game looks, it's very standard God of War action. Kratos tears through skeleton soldiers with moves and combat we've seen before, the chained blades twirling and slamming down on enemies like it's old hat. But it soon becomes obvious that this forest environment is more than meets the eye, the shaking and undulating environment more than a mere rumbling of earth -- Kratos is fighting on the body of the Titan Gaia as she climbs Mount Olympus.

Suddenly, the ground shakes more violently than before. It cracks, and from it erupts a huge boss, a crab-like creature, dripping with water. If Hight knows what its name is, he's not telling me, but he describes it as a "little boss composed of water and crab [and] crustacean parts." "Little" is an understatement, as this thing stands tall among the series' biggest baddies. It nips and swipes at Kratos, its patterns not entirely unlike that of the series' other massive creatures. It is impressive in its size and detail, but it's what we've come to expect from a typical God of War battle. Then, it happens.

The camera pulls out in real time to reveal that this battle isn't just taking place on any old part of Gaia, but on her arm. It's here that you can really see the scope of these Titans, and what the technology that God of War III uses is capable of. It happens so quickly -- with the player still in complete control over the ant-like Kratos -- as the Titan swings her arm up and over as she climbs Mount Olympus. Kratos hangs on for his life, using his blades to dig into Gaia's arm. Now we're in vertical combat, the battle with the crab creature raging on. And again, it happens.

The camera swings around and out as Gaia moves her arm again, obviously annoyed by the flies battling on it. She smashes the creature against the side of Mount Olympus, pressing down on it as it writhes in pain. But the battle continues, Kratos hammering the beast with his chains. In true God of War fashion, the end of this battle is a dramatic, quicktime event death; Kratos hops on the creature's face, ripping its yapping jaw apart and sending the lower half crashing to the ground. Hight pauses the game; the demo is over. I'm speechless.

At this point you might be thinking, "Sounds neat, I guess. You need to calm down, fanboy." Maybe you're right. But it has to be said that seeing is believing. We've been told about this Titan gameplay from the start, but it's nearly impossible to adequately describe what it looks like when woven into the fast-paced action of God of War. Few games, if any at all, have been able to render so much on as epic a scale as what Sony Santa Monica will be delivering with God of War.

"The technology we employ is called 'soft body collision,' so we can literally build the entire level on top of the character model," Hight explains. "Our characters are environments in their own right." He says he doesn't think any other game is doing anything like it; I agree. It's like nothing I've ever seen. As for this particular creature, Hight calls it a "mini boss," despite it being bigger and more vicious than most enemies you'd fight in most games. Period. He also hints that the game's opening number -- the Hydra battle of God of War III, if you will -- is even more epic in scale.

Unfortunately, it's unclear whether Sony will actually show gamers this gameplay in action before the game launches in March. "We wanted to keep the Titans under wraps, because we think they're pretty special," Hight tells me. "They'll make a big difference in the gameplay."

Hight let me play the demo, handing me the controller, and I can confirm that it felt as good as it looked. But despite it being completely playable, don't expect another God of War demo to display this impressive technology. "We probably won't put this particular sequence in consumer's hands; we already have a pretty long demo," he says. "[We] kind of want to focus on finishing the game."

God of War III, Hight tells me, is "done." The game's currently in beta, with all of the content in place; now they're just "fine-tuning the details, making sure it's smooth." The wait is almost over -- God of War III ships this March.
