I've been told by many people that I should start a blog, so here it is. My first post will deal with one of my big issues, old school gamers.

Frankly, there are too many n00bs out there pretending they are great gamers. IMO, you aren't even "good" until you've held an NES controller for AT LEAST 20 hours. People do not realize that some of the best games ever created are from the 80's.

If you think FFVII is the greates game EVER, you need to seriously put down your controller, go bang your head into a wall, and then get yourself an SNES. The BEST games are on the SNES. Donkey Kong Country, EarthBound, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past, and Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars amoung many others. Oh, and the GREATEST GAME EVER! Chrono Trigger.

That's enough for my first blog post. I'm interested in what you think about what I said so please let me know. I'll have to wait and see what I can come up with next.

You make a great point, my first console was a SNES back in 1992 (i think). I'm yet to play games that compare with the gameplay of SuperMario Kart, F-Zero, SFII, The Legend of Zelda, Megaman X, Contra III/Super Probotector and Super Metroid. I've been thinking of buying a SNES again.....I miss those great games, plus the SNES pad was awesome.

I agree. The best games are the classics and most of these younger kids will grow up in a generation with the Xbox360 and the PS3 and stuff. In the "next generation" gaming as they call it. Never to play the NES or SNES or even the N64 and original Playstation. Makes me sad. I think that was the best thing about my childhood. Playing those great, fun, simple games. And now, the games (for kids) have gotten harder, more complex, A LOT more buttons on the controls, and it can be rather confusing for the younger croud. But I agree, the best games are only found in the classic consoles!

P.S. Congrats on your first blog post! See you in the union!

I think you make some great points Stone2353 . I'm yet to play any game that can beat the multiplayer fun on SuperMarioKart......I've never had as much fun since playing videogames. Sure PG3 and the GT series look good....but where's the playability??? Its the same with beat 'em ups, Tekken, DOA, Soul Caliber etc are two complicated, I'm rubbish at them as well, gimme Double Dragon or SFII and I have great time button bashing

lol, but button mashing isn't going to get you the win. For what SFII lacks in techniques, it makes up for in a need for good reactions and knowledge of everybody's moves. XYou still have to be thinking while playing.
