I learned about Barry Bonds at around the time I started watching Chicago Cubs baseball, as part of the opposing Pittsburgh Pirates. I always thought, for a while, that Bond was a brilliant and terrific athlete. At some point after Bonds left Pittsburgh for the San Francisco Giants, I didn't pay much attention to some of the controversy that surrounded Bonds.

He has accomplished a lot -- he took over Mark McGwire's short-lived homeruns record (which previously had belonged to Roger Maris. He could also potentially break Henry "Hank" Aaron's all-time record of homers. There's no doubt that he's a talented act. However, since the steroid mess came into play, I started to suspect maybe Bonds may have cheated. The noticeable increase in the bulk of weight is something to consider (he was under 200 pounds early in his career, now he's well over that number).

Because of the possible steroid use, my impression of Bonds overall has decreased over the years. I hope he does what is best, and admit that he did 'juice' himself up. Otherwise, not only that he would ruin his own reputation, but for baseball itself. Also, I'm uncertain as to whether he should be elected into the Hall of Fame.

It all began when I had received a Super Nintendo (NES) videogame, starring Ryne Sandberg. It was a fun game, despite the fact that none of the players in it were professional athletes. Then, I watched (in the 1990s) Chicago Cubs baseball on Superstation WGN in Chicago, when Harry Caray commentated all those baseball games. Holy Cow, I was hooked watching Sandberg play the game. I had always hoped that the Cubs would win a World Series title. Even when they weren't a winning team, I still enjoyed the Chicago Cubs.

When 1994 came, Ryno (which is Sandberg's nickname) retired from the game for the first time, dealing with a painful divorce from his ex-wife. I was devastated back then (I was 13, when he retired). He came out of retirement (he re-married) in 1996, and played through 1997. Even though Ryno never played in the World Series, he did help the Cubs win two divisional titles. He also won nine golden glove awards, played in many all-star games, and he was an all-around nice guy (I do not recall him ever arguing with the umpires).

I wish that I could have seen this man play, because he was a fine second baseman, and it was a delight to watch him play the game the way it was meant to be. In July, Ryno was inducted into the Hall of Fame on July 31, 2005, along with third baseman Wade Boggs. He is considered as one of my favorite athletes.

Candi Milo's beginning as a voice-over artist was meant to be. Her interest sparked from the movie, "Cool World." Milo's debut on animated television was from "Tiny Toon Adventures" as Sweetie Pie. That was the first voice that I can recall Milo performing. However, it wasn't until Cartoon Network's "Dexter's Laboratory" that I knew the name, Candi Milo. She took over for retired VA, Christine Cavanaugh, who provided Dexter's voice for the first 2 1/2 seasons of the series. Milo did a great job filling in for Cavanaugh.

One of Candi's most well-known roles was the voice of The Flea from "�­¡Mucha Lucha!". I did not care for the show, but The Flea's voice was certainly the favorite from the show. Another well-known role from Milo was from "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends" -- her major roles as both Coco and Madame Foster. Even though the role of Coco consisted of dialogue of the name "Coco", I gotta say that she did a magnificent job, and her role has made it one of my favorites from Milo. She also did great as Madame F. Another role from the same series -- a minor one, but one that many fans really enjoyed, was the voice of Cheese. She definitely rocked there.

She can also be heard on "The Life & Times of Juniper Lee", "Codename: Kids Next Door", "Loonatics: Unleashed", and many others. Milo is a terrific actress, and I believe that she doesn't get enough praise for her works. I managed to send her an email back in July 2005 for her works, and she responded -- definitely a great individual.

There's no doubt that Mr. Steven Jay Blum (may also be known as David Lucas or Daniel Andrews) is one of most talented American voice-over actors of the end of the 1990s and into the 21st century. The first time I've heard Blum's voice was from Cartoon Network's Toonami mascot, TOM. He has been doing TOM's voice, since the character debuted on the network (I think).

My favorite role performed by Blum himself has to be Spike Spiegel from "Cowboy Bebop." It's the the role that is very close to Blum's natural voice. So in other words, Blum was born to become Spike Spiegel. He's also known for his works in Megas XLR, s~CRY~ed, Big O, Samurai Champloo, and Ben 10. If you haven't heard of any of Mr. Blum's works, then you are definitely missing out. He cannot be denied!
