Hey guys, just thought I'd bring up a new idea for my blog. Some of you might think I'm weird when I tell you that I miss some of the old cartoons out there, and I feel bad for the modern cartoons out there plauging kids' minds. What ever happened to the adventures of the Rugrats, or the creativity of the Wild Thornberries? This second grader I know told me that he hates all of the cartoons these days, and that concerns me. Any of you guys remember some of the legendary cartoons out there? I loved so many of them. At least Spongebob is still around, but where the hell are the others? You can't run out of ideas with shows such as the Fairly Odd Parents!
My point is that cartoons were my entire childhood, and now as a sophomore, I can't help but remember some of the cla$sic shows. Here is a list of some of my favorites in no particular order:
Hey Arnold
Fairly Odd Parents
Spongebob
Rugrats
Wild Thornberries
Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball
Pokemon (until Johto ruined it
)
Dexter's Lab
Power Puff Girls (come on, you all liked them
)
Tenchi in Toyko (anyone remember this one?)
Teen Titans
Doug
Ed, Edd, n' Eddy
---
So yeah there are a bunch I'm forgetting, but I loved cartoons and for quite a time span
. I'm not afraid to admit that I continually watched cartoons up until when I turned maybe 13. Now they got rid of all of these great shows and turned Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network into crap. I guess I could always check out Boomerang for some of the shows, but I can't really ever catch any of these shows anymore on T.V. What happened to Toonami? Please tell me they still show that! Or Cartoon Cartoons? I really wouldn't mind seeing these things again for one last time. Cartoons are something I just can't forget. They always gave me a good laugh, and I was always into the shows, as if I were pretty much there. Anyone else wondering where all of these great shows went? Why are the cartoons these day so bad? Damn it! That is all.
Oh and school is a drag
.

My favorite cartoons (not including anime) died ages ago... Dexters Lab, Wild Thornberries, Hey Arnold, and Doug were my all time favs. Though there are some good cartoons still on, like Ben 10 and uh, let me get back to you... Still, even dubbed anime like Naruto is really starting to suck... Power Puff Girls and Samurai Jack were doing so bad in America after a few years, that Japan bought them and made them better...

shadow-
Why can't they bring back the good stuff!
wolf- Yeah I stopped at Johto, got bored of it. Don't remember bettleborgs, but zoids was awesome.
twilight-
Find them!
marrium- do they really still have toonami? I'll bet it sucks, but that still surprises me.
ghangis- Indeed, that one is truely my favorite
. Rugrats is close though
Ninja- Those were some great cartoons, and I forgot about Samurai Jack. I used to love that show for a while, but the last episodes sucked. I remember they had a Toonami marathon and then it officially ended

I don't watch much TV anymore, it's mostly internet or videogames for me now. For animation it would be mostly Adult Swim, anime, or flash cartoons. Today's cartoons are an embarrasment. Most of today's kids seem to care more for Hannah Montana or High School Musical.

The last great cartoon was Gargoyles.

Freakazoid (Volume 1) and Tiny Toons (Volume 1) have both just been released on DVD. I suggest picking them up.
The main reason cartoons suck is because network censors crack down so hard on them; either they can't have anything that would be considered remotely inappropriate or else they demand a certain level of education out of them. Cartoons as a result are stuck in a pit of un-creativity. Hell, all of the old Warner Brothers Saturday morning cartoons were some of the best on television, and we never got half of the jokes that played on the air. They had charisma, humor, and they pushed the envelope; something that cartoons today are forbidden to do.

I hope on day kids would realize how stupid their shows are and stop watching until people play back the ones similar to the good old days.

I miss the ood ones like Ed, Edd 'n Eddy, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Goosebumps...all the good stuff. And I remember Beetleborgs! haha brings back memories. They were kinda like Power Rangers. Teenagers change into spandex and fight Mutant Butterflys. They are an embarrasment now...like weird ass cartoons like The Misadventures of Flapjack and Chowder...just weird...

they arent getting worse. you just think theyre getting worse because your becoming more mature. and you still laugh at the old ones because of the good times you had. some kid who watches cartoons now will grow up to remember the cartoons of today.
