Hey guys, just thought I'd bring up a new idea for my blog. Some of you might think I'm weird when I tell you that I miss some of the old cartoons out there, and I feel bad for the modern cartoons out there plauging kids' minds. What ever happened to the adventures of the Rugrats, or the creativity of the Wild Thornberries? This second grader I know told me that he hates all of the cartoons these days, and that concerns me. Any of you guys remember some of the legendary cartoons out there? I loved so many of them. At least Spongebob is still around, but where the hell are the others? You can't run out of ideas with shows such as the Fairly Odd Parents!
My point is that cartoons were my entire childhood, and now as a sophomore, I can't help but remember some of the cla$sic shows. Here is a list of some of my favorites in no particular order:
Hey Arnold
Fairly Odd Parents
Spongebob
Rugrats
Wild Thornberries
Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball
Pokemon (until Johto ruined it)
Dexter's Lab
Power Puff Girls (come on, you all liked them)
Tenchi in Toyko (anyone remember this one?)
Teen Titans
Doug
Ed, Edd, n' Eddy
---
So yeah there are a bunch I'm forgetting, but I loved cartoons and for quite a time span. I'm not afraid to admit that I continually watched cartoons up until when I turned maybe 13. Now they got rid of all of these great shows and turned Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network into crap. I guess I could always check out Boomerang for some of the shows, but I can't really ever catch any of these shows anymore on T.V. What happened to Toonami? Please tell me they still show that! Or Cartoon Cartoons? I really wouldn't mind seeing these things again for one last time. Cartoons are something I just can't forget. They always gave me a good laugh, and I was always into the shows, as if I were pretty much there. Anyone else wondering where all of these great shows went? Why are the cartoons these day so bad? Damn it! That is all.
Oh and school is a drag.

Yeah, I have something to blog about. I just finished my summer reading and I was kind of annoyed by one of the books. I won't say which book it is, because I don't want to spoil things...but anyways. The majority of the books that I have to read for school result in the same damn ending. The main character's friend or relative always dies! It gets on my nerves so much. Seriously, we've read a bunch of narrated books, and it's become so easy to tell which character dies. I don't get why all of the literature our school classifies as "good" involve some tragic death. In fact, it's become such an obvious annoyance in my eyes, that I can even assume which character dies, and I'm always right! The books schools select are all the same, and people fail to understand that good books don't always need to result in some sort of death. Isn't that kind of sad? I don't know, this may be a stupid blog, but it's just something I had to let out to somebody. I am a bit emotional, so I guess that is why I get angered when everyone dies in the books. It just changes my view on the whole book. What I mean by this is I'll be focusing in on the character that I think will die, and fail to notice the details of other things. So this book just caused me to become pissed off to an extreme. I haven't read a recent school book where someone (not even counting the villains) die. Anyone else notice this? If you want to see the books that I've read resulting in deaths of characters click this (these are the last 3 books I've read in school or for school):

***SPOILER***

Anyways that is all. Peace,

Good news, my impressions on this conference are not nearly as bad as the ones I had for the Nintendo one. It was horrible, but enough of that. Sony's was actually quite good, and it really makes me want a PS3. So last night I did some thinking, and I might trade in my Wii and all of its games for a PS3. Maybe. But let's save that for another time, time to talk about the topic of the blog. For one thing, these guys definitely know what we consumers want, much unlike Nintendo. I heard some great announcements for the PS3, and I really am excited about these games. Just having the opportunity to play them sometime would be an honor. Now, a year ago I'd tell you that PS3 sucks, but opinions can change rather quickly. It is unfortunate, because I already bought a Wii. Here are my opinions on some of the games that they announced for the PS3 exclusively that I really thought were stellar.

Resistance 2: This game looks really awesome. I am not going to lie. I played some of the first one and loved it, so I figured this game would be pretty good, but this game is much better than I initially expected. The colossal creature that was displayed in the video shown at the conference looked so awesome. The graphics looked really damn good, even for the PS3, and it just overall looked like an intense experience. I really am anticipating this title, and I don't even own a PS3. I am sure it will do really well, and I am pretty happy for you Sony gamers out there. Have a good time with this one!

Little Big Planet: This was by far my favorite game demonstrated, and I have been reading and watch videos about after the Press Conference. Little Big Planet looks so great, and I am really impressed that Sony pulled this off and made it fun for all audiences...much unlike another company I know of . Seriously, I could spend hours constructing all sorts of levels in this game. It just looks that good. I am really stoked for a game such as this, now if only I had a PS3. The portion of the Press Conference that displayed this game was so clever and awesome, that it just caused me to keep an eye out for it. If I ever get my hands on a PS3, I will be sure to get this game.

Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty: The name of the game was the main highlight for me:lol;, just kidding. But really, this game looks really great. Plus, it is at cheap price, so I am sold. The stuff they showed at the Conference was really cool, too. Not to mention that Ratchet and Clank is already a great and successful series...I have no doubt that this game will do just as well as the other games of the franchise.

God of War III: I don't know about you Sony gamers out there, but I was really shocked when I found out that this game was heading for the PS3. The brief trailer of it looked really good, and Kratos looks even more badass than before. The graphics look simply amazing. Unfortuantely, I don't have much to say about this one, since the trailer was so short. But really, most surprising part of the Conference. I mean, I know there aren't any God of War games on the PS3, but God of War 2 is relatively new. So yeah, this game is going to kick some ass.
----
The rest of the Conference was really good too; I heard some really promising stuff for the PlayStations. The sudden expansion of memory for the PS3 in October at a $400 value is simply awesome, and I might buy the console with a deal like that. I also really like the fact that Sony is still considering the PS2, and how it was mentioned for quite a while during the Conference. Also, all of these new PSP exclusive packs are really great deals, and hooking the PSP wirelessly to the PS3 is so cool. This conference was a hell of a lot better than the Nintendo one. Let's compare the two with two simple words: Quality and Quantity.
Nintendo: They talked their asses off about quantity but nothing satisfies the hardcore gamers at all..
Sony: The quantity was discussed, and the quality of the upcoming games could easily please any type of gamer.
So in closure, I give a thumbs up to Sony for an overall really good conference. If I have the time tonight, I might watch Microsoft's conference. For now, I am going to watch some videos on games coming out on multiple consoles, and I may make a blog about these games...as there are quite a number of them. So thanks for reading this blog, and I hope you enjoyed hearing the positive things I had to say (considering that fact that I am not even a true Sony fan).
Sony's Conference gets an 8/10...Really great job guys.
Peace,

You Don't Mess With the Zohan
If I had one word to describe this film, the word interesting comes to mind. It's one of those movies that will make you laugh, but give you nightmares at the same time. Overall, Sandler stars in a decent film, but not anywhere near his cla$$ics...
