Ever since he made his very first Cup start, he's pretty much been unbelievable. A lot of drivers enter the Cup series hoping to even have a quarter of the success Gordon has had. He had won over 50 races and four championships by the time he was 30 years old.

Right now he is currently on his "Drive for Five", and I hope that he pulls it off. He's got the best chance of anyone to do that, so I hope it works out for him.

I've always respected his ability behind the wheel of a racecar. I haven't agreed with everything that he's done or the way he's reacted to certain situations, but you can't help but respect his driving ability.

He started his long tenure with Jack Roush and the #6 team in 1988, and got his first win in November of 1989 at the now-defunct track North Carolina Speedway, which was also known as 'The Rock' and 'Rockingham'.

He started his long tenure with Jack Roush and the #6 team in 1988, and got his first win in November of 1989 at the now-defunct track North Carolina Speedway, which was also known as 'The Rock' and 'Rockingham'.

Possibly the biggest disappointment of his career was in 1990. After he won the spring race at Richmond, his team was penalized 46 points for an infraction on his car discovered during the post-race inspections. He ended up finishing second to Dale Earnhardt in the final standings by 26 points, so if it weren't for that penalty, he would have been the 1990 NASCAR Cup champion.

Still, to this day he's won 35 races, and he's running a part-time schedule (and doing a great job!) after leaving Jack Roush's team after the 2006 season.

I've been a Rusty fan pretty much ever since I first started following racing. Every time he'd win a race, I'd have one of the best feelings that I've had in my life.

He started on the Cup circuit in 1980, and he finished second in his very first race! He finally got his first win in 1986 at Bristol, and ever since then, you could not keep the guy out of victory lane. He won the championship in 1989, beating Dale Earnhardt by 12 points after finishing second to Bill Elliott the previous year by only about 24 points.

When the 2002 season ended, he had failed to win a race for the first time since 1985, and that saddened me, because he did have victory in hand several times in 2002, but had to settle for second after fading late in the going.

2003 brought another winless season for Wallace, as his best finish was 3rd at the California Speedway in the spring. He finished outside of the Top 10 in points, which was VERY uncharacteristic for a driver like him. I kept saying, "He's gonna get back to Victory Lane sooner or later. I've seen how well he's been running to almost get wins."

And he finally did it in April 2004 at Martinsville! It was his 55th and final career victory before retiring after the end of the 2005 season to concentrate on upcoming son Steven's career, and to be an addition to the broadcast booth for ESPN's coverage of the NASCAR races.

He started out driving the #22 car for Bill Davis Racing in 1993, and finished second to Jeff Gordon in the Rookie of the Year standings. In 1994 he continued to drive for Bill Davis, but he only had (what some would call) limited success (but I just call that getting on your feet) until he joined Joe Gibbs in 1995.

He won the Cup championship in 2000, and hopefully 2007 will be a season where he will be a Top 10 factor (or at least be in position to make the Chase) in the point standings.

Bobby is one of my favorite drivers because you never hear him whining or complaining about anything; even when he might deserve to be. And he's never wrecked out anybody to win a race.
