If you follow English football, or soccer for those that live on the other side of the 'pond', then you can't have missed the storm that is being caused by the anouncement made last week, as reported on the Beebs website:

"The English Premier League is considering the idea of staging some matches around the rest of the world.

At a meeting in London, all 20 clubs agreed to explore a proposal to extend the season to 39 games.

Those 10 extra games would be played at five different venues, with cities bidding for the right to stage them.

It is understood the additional fixtures could be determined by a draw but that the top-five teams could be seeded to avoid playing each other."

Now this thread isn't designed to discuss this announcement as enough of that is being done in other more dedicated forums - oh no this thread is to look at the gaming possibilities presented by this opportunity.

Think of all the recoding necessary in games such as Football Manager 20xx or LMA 20xx. Not just with the extra games in the league but the need for the new stadiums to be represented and the way the draw for the games is made will need to be implemented too.

Will we get a new version of Sensi on XBL? You'd like to hope so wouldn't you.

And how about EA they have to be salivating at the chance to create a special edition game just focusing on those 10 matches - hell they do a game just focusing on getting to the world cup so why not.

I am sure there are more possibilities within the games but then you have the marketing and sale of your games to those new target audiences the possibilities are not necessarily endless but it does give you food for thought.
