With the soon to be released Wii title, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, one can't help but think...no, dream of playing with each of the very large selection of characters: Link with his awesome Triforce final smash ability, Snake with his splendid remote control missile attack, and Yoshi with his improved egg laying move...

Yeah, that Yoshi sure is a peculiar little fellow. The guy's appeared in some really great games over the years. But what the heck is he?

Here's the process by which I formulated a logical name for Yoshi's true species.

I began by devising a list of six species that Yoshi is can be closely related to.

1. A dinosaur. Evidence: the egg.

2. A frog. Evidence: the tongue.

3. A dragon. Evidence: the wings.

4. A race car driver. Evidence: the car.

5. A babysitter. Evidence: those babies!

6. An enthusiastic movie watcher. The evidence is the picture below.

My next step was to narrow the possibilities down by a drastic 50 percent. I think we can all agree this was no easy task. After many hours of pondering my options, I decided on eliminating the following: a race car driver (I realized my mistake that that's not a car, its a kart), a babysitter (Yoshi is clearly too busy driving his kart all the time to be a baby sitter), and an enthusiastic movie watcher (at first I was sure this one would stay on this list, but my oversight was simple: he's an enthusiastic popcorn eater, not movie watcher! I mean, seriously, do you see any movies goin' in this picture? No! But the popcorn...it's right there in his freakin' paw or hand thing flying out of the container in to his big red mouth!!)

So I was finally down to three...a dinosaur, a frog, and a dragon. I had no choice but to create Yoshi's species name, as no more options could possibly be removed.

Watch out, this part gets tricky; there are steps within this final step.

First, I took the animal names and placed them in order of most like Yoshi to least like Yoshi which just so happened to be in the original list order.

Second, I broke down the names into their syllables: di-no-saur, frog, dra-gon.

Finally, I put them together...

Yoshi is a dinofrogon!!! You heard it here first.
