Bruno Is the latest film starring one of the many personalities of Sacha Baron Cohen. Sacha has built a reputation over the years as a comic-genius who pokes fun at society while revealing its inner-stupid; all of which, while staying in character even in the most dire of situations... You gotta give it to the man for being able to pull off such a stunt. Sacha has since moved on from wannabe gangsters and representatives of Kazakhstan to focus on a very, homosexual male who thrives on becoming the greatest Austrian superstar ever... Next to Hitler.
Keep in mind, people who are easily offended (This film can be vulgar to even the toughest of souls), and homophobes alike, should stay out of this film.
Bruno was as funny as it was appalling -- but most importantly, it was somehow entertaining (If you've seen Borat, you get the idea). Rare do I ever watch a film where I want to close my eyes, yet keep them open anyways because I just can't stop laughing... Bruno succeeds in that field.
The story is pretty basic. Without spoiling anything, Bruno is about a gay Austrian fashion reporter who longs to become the greatest superstar of his nation. There's a wide variety of things he does in attempt to become that image in this film, but I won't give any away. Ultimately, Bruno has a plot to hold together the film. It's not the most brilliant plot, but what the hell are you expecting from a film like Bruno? The plot and his motives are crystal clear, and it's good enough to hold the film from start to finish. Everything else is completely wild with non-stop laughs and "OMG" moments.
I like strong characters in a film. Bruno is a face that we will be seeing around for quite a while. The character will be the main selling-point for the film. That is quite something considering people will see the film that people will definitely label as vulgar.
Bruno is an R rated film... I am personally shocked that this film did not recieve NC-17. This film will indeed shock many people with its content. Just for a heads up, there is indeed full-frontal male nudity; hell, at one point you will see a penis flapping around for at least 10 seconds. You will see cleavage in full-detail. You will see A LOT of sexuality, both gay and straight. This film just has it all and makes "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" look like child's play.
Overall, Bruno is shocking, but drop dead hilarious. It has tons of laughs and moments that will make you want to gag -- it really just pushes your senses.
Is Bruno better than Borat? Well both are extremely hilarious and vulgar in their own ways, so I would say it will ultimately come down to opinion. So with that said, check out Bruno if you think you can handle it. 8/10.

@biggest_loser - I'm not saying Bruno is the strongest most well-developed character ever, but he is what he is - and it takes A LOT for someone to be able to stay in character without even a hiccup in the toughest of situations. Can't wait to hear what you think of it!
@ chessmaster1989 - same with you. Can't wait to hear what you think of it!
