This must be one of the most unique games ive played this year... PORTAL makes excellent use of the half life 2 engine (perhaps THE best use of it?)
I know this isn't the first time it has been done, but just the sheer atmosphere and crazy puzzlesolving makes this a one of a kind.
Well, kind of a shortie today, but im off for now. Gonna play it again on the harder difficulty... perhaps with some commentaries? ![]()
I'm making a note here:
HUGE SUCCESS
(The cake is a lie!)
First and foremost, i know, that i havent been blogging for a loooong time, and that video never got up and running, and im sorry (to that one person out there who actually look at my blog...)
Anyways, I am sure, that probably 79% of all gamespot users have recently written a blog about how angry, sad or filled with a never ending lust for revenge they are. -Well, heres another one
Let me start by saying, that this is not only dedicated to Jeff, but to three main editors that hold dear to my heart:
First, we lost the hands down most skilled editor of Gamespot
Second we lost perhaps the worlds greatest gameshow host
And finally, third, Mr Jeff Gerstmann, the apple in apple pie, the ever-burning flame, the most crazy person that has ever set foot on earth.
For me, the first personal loss i felt gamespot suffered was when Greg Kasavin decided to leave the staff. I dare say to everyone, that he was my all time favorite video game reviewer. He had an interesting personality and an uncommon way of thinking, but that is what I (and probably many others) liked about him. He was different, he was experienced and he had a huge vocabulary. He actually sounded like he knew what he was talking about, without appearing "stiff" or "Artificial" in any way. Even though i felt a loss, i still knew it would be okay, because he did it for a good reason. I too felt, that he was "growing out" of gamespot. He was too mature, too experienced, and in many cases, he sounded like he needed more of a challenge than gamespot had to offer.
May you never be forgotten, Greg.
Rich Gallup, former host of shows like "On The Spot" and T"ournament TV". He was the icing on the cake, the star of the show, the wings on a bird. Always happy, constantly energetic, never the partypooper. This man makes people smile, laugh and even wonder.
"What happened to your eyebrow?" Probably one of the most commonly asked questions regarding Rich. I find it somewhat sad since he had so many other amazing things in his personality, but even Rich mentioned, that people would be discussing his eyebrow after he got hired. And so they did. But looking at other qualities about rich, i would like to point out one particular thing: his laugh. I guess you could say I've "adopted" his laugh. I sometimes burst out a high pitched giggle now and then.
Rich, you were my favorite... I hope youre happier than ever, and that you may continue that way for many years to come.
And now Jeff? Jeff was what made gamespot to what it was. "gamespot is still crazy" as he once stated regarding the new and more "compact" E3. Well, now what, Gamespot? Jeff is gone, and its partly your fault. Is gamespot still crazy? Yes, it is, but not in a good way nomore.
And to Jeff. What happened to you was not deserved. Not even the smallest. You've been with gamespot from almost the beginning. How can you get fired because of one f'ing review? Wouldn't they still get a decent amount of money from all the paying members and other ad's?
The world has become full of greed. Perhaps it has always been, but you rarely notice, untill something happens to something that you hold close. But in the end, we can all conclude, that greed on a scale such as this will not pay off. All the people who has cancelled their total access membership, because of this unfortunate event, has made an even bigger loss to CNET than before.
Fellow gamespot members, gather up and let your voice be heard. It is time to make a change!
And to Jeff: You had a great run, and we all miss you dearly... Don't let the system get you down!
Peace
Yup, you heard it here first, guys... I'm making a new tribute video. Following the nice success from my earlier final fantasy tribute (or at least the small group of people who bothered to watch it
), I'm gonna try to make up for it by tributing Kingdom Hearts II. Though this time, I've chosen to go a more "Hardcore" way. With lots of actionbased scenes and heavy linkin park music pumping, this one will truely be action packed ^_^
But enough talk... if you've sticked with me this far, i thank you. I rarely get feedback or comments, but my last post showed me wrong with a total of 6 comments (excluding my own
). So if you wanna make my day shine a bit brighter, spend a minute leaving a comment on this post or my video ^.^

). I have oh so much to tell you guys, but its 6:00 am here, and I haven't slept yet
(way of an active gamer
)
Ill see you guys soon enough, but untill then, watch the video, leave a comment, and perhaps watch the video again because its that awesome? ![]()
