Its easy to find yourself and your friends in one of the 6 stereotypical teens that are stuck in a saturday detention. A must see for young teens, it gives a good view into what really happens in high school. You can see that for the nerd, getting good grades isn't just because he can, being the big popular football star isn't always as glamorous as it may seem, and sometimes the bully really has more problems than you do. Each teen comes from a different group, and are almost disgusted with one another. They may begin like this, but by the end of their punishment they all share a bond that they won't soon forget. The simple point of this movie is how you can see how easily the fabric of high school social classes can be torn apart. It is a must see for young teens entering high school or for young high schoolers.

This movie is an instant friend. As you see the world through the eyes of Forrest Gump (Tom Hanks), you see how friendship and love are all you need to make it through life. Gump, was born slightly mentally ill, and falls victim to a leg paralyzing disease. After he discovers he is a born football player, he leaves for college and enters the army to fight in the Vietnam war. He comes back a hero, and a vow to his friend "Bubba" who wishes for him to start a shrimping company after he returns home. As Forrest sits on a bench waiting for a bus, he tells passersby the story of the war, and of his independent mother, and most affectionately of Jenny, the love of his life that constantly drops out and returns. The magic of this movie , is captured in its ability to make you laugh and cry at the same time. Tom Hanks is able to turn fictional Forrest Gump into the older man who just wants to tell his story that you see around town. Watch it, love it.

Cute and loveable, both jimmy fallon and drew berrymore play likeable characters in this light-hearted movie about a boy who never let his dreams of baseball go. Big executive Drew berrymore is talked into dating a high school teacher by all her friends, and as the two begin to bond, she sees that he has an almost gross obsession with the red sox. The whole movie is based on her need to manage work and her boyfriend, who seems to care more about americas past time than her. Funny, sweet, fun for a date or for a ladies night out.

Slow, plodding, unbelievable. These are a few words that can be used to describe this 2004 "wanna be romance." As Michael (zach braff) approaches his mid-30s he and his pregnant girlfriend begin to do "grown up" things, such as find a house and talk about their future. When Micheal is scared by this he runs for cover under the sheets of a young flirtatious girl he meets at a friends wedding. It is hard to feel sorry for Braff's character, as he treated his girlfriend unfairly, but she is not quite a likable character either. All the characters are hard to get into, and the funny only funny thing the whole movie has going for it are the three best friends of michael who get almost no screen time at all. if you are looking for a good romantic-comedy, go for Garden State.

in this dark, hilarious product of zach braff, Andrew Largeman, (zach braff) returns to his home town after learning about the death of his mother to discover all his friends are on drugs and his father is still as controlling as ever. In his structured, medicated, life, Largeman has almost nothing going for him but the young, outgoing girl he meets in the hospital, Sam (natalie portman). This story is a simple story of boy-meets-girl but is infused with lessons, about growing up, sharing your love, and making the right decisions. A must see for teens and young adults.

i dont care what the "Expert critics" say, this movie is a cult classic among my peers, and is silly but hilarious in its own right. It might not be conventional, but its a silly, light movie that can be easily enjoyed among friends.
