If nothing else, it has been an eventful and eye opening year for Barbados born songstress Rihanna. In addition to recording one of the most popular singles of 2005, the hypnotic "Pon De Replay" (which bass bumped out of more car windows while igniting a slew of barbeques last summer), she won over the masses with her charming Bajan persona.
"So much has happened in my life, I feel like I've grown five years in a year," she gushes. No doubt, by the time Def Jam Records released Rihanna's debut album Music of the Sun, it was obvious that this young woman was more than a one-hit wonder. With a work ethic reminiscent of Motown sisters back in the day when soul reigned supreme, Rihanna traveled throughout the world.
2005 saw Rihanna rocking the mic on tour with Gwen Stefani, making crowds sweat in Japan, posing for magazine covers in Los Angeles and shooting her first film role for Bring It On Yet Again. This was a long way from the quiet life she led in Barbados in the parish of St.Michael. Robyn Rihanna Fenty has come through her musical initiation process unscathed. And now she is poised for everything that 2006 may hold as she readies to do it again with her sophomore release A Girl Like Me.
"I grew up so much this past year. I had no choice. To pursue my dreams, and with their support, I left my entire family in Barbados to move to the States. It was a little scary to have no friends or family and all of a sudden step into a recording studio," recalled Rihanna. "2005 taught me the dedication and responsibility it takes to make this dream a reality. Waking up at 5:00 am to start rehearsals, the training, the schoolwork, interviews, video shoots, going all day; it always seemed glamorous but it is real work. My love for music and singing will never change but the rose colored glasses are no longer so rosy."
"Many times over the past year, I didn't have anyone my age with me. When recording this album, I wanted it to seem like I was having a personal conversation with girls my age," says the eighteen-year-old singer. "People think, because we're young, we aren't complex, but that's not true. We deal with life and love and broken hearts in the same way a woman a few years older might. My goal on A Girl Like Me was to find songs that express the many things young women want to say, but might not know how."
Dropping from the harmonic heavens to the groovalistic dance floor, Rihanna has returned with another single that will have listeners begging the d.j. to play it one more time. Produced by Jason Rotem, the sizzling "S.O.S." is bringing the summer heat early this year. With its hypnotic beat and enticing melody, "S.O.S." utilizes the electro-funk of Soft Cell's '80s classic "Tainted Love" to create a soulful anthem of young love.
"I got excited when I first heard this track and three days later, it was recorded," Rihanna says. Turning heads with its rebel sound, "S.O.S." has been used as the theme song for their NIKE latest women's line, which can be viewed on NikeWomen.com. "Making that commercial was yet another new experience," she says. "It took six days to shoot, but working with choreographer Jamie King (Madonna and Shakira) was amazing."
Focusing on progressing as an artist, Rihanna has recorded a compelling track of heartbreak called "Unfaithful." Penned by her label-mate Ne-Yo and Stargate, the song documents the tragic decay of a relationship when another person starts cheating.
Yet, in this instance, it is the girl who has strayed. "On a lot of records, men talk about cheating as though it's all a game. For me, 'Unfaithful' is not just about stepping out on your man, but the pain that it causes both parties."
Perhaps the most surprising track is the rock meets island vibe of "Kisses Don't Lie." Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken, the principles of her production company, SRP, used a mixture of Caribbean elements, electric guitar and a mesmerizing bassline." Coming from Barbados, I really hadn't heard that much rock music," Rihanna confesses. "Touring with Gwen changed my perspective. So, when I was discussing this project with L.A. Reid, Chairman of Island Def Jam Records, I made sure to say I want to experiment with some rock." During the recording of A Girl Like Me, Rihanna jet set down to Jamaica to record with Sean Paul on the yardie duet "Break It Off." Smiling, Rihanna explains, "I have so much respect and love for Sean Paul. He took me to visit the Bob Marley Museum before going into the studio, which was an amazing experience. When we finally got to the studio, I felt as though Marley's spirit was in the room with us."
With A Girl Like Me, the beautiful singer proves that her breakthrough was no fluke. After selling 1 million copies worldwide of her debut Music Of The Sun, once again, the summer belongs to Rihanna.

ALYSSA MILANO Actress Alyssa Milano has spent almost her entire life in the public eye. A famous child actor, Alyssa has continued to work throughout her adulthood in both television and film.
However, her latest role is outside the world of Hollywood, as a philanthropist. Because of all her charitable work on behalf of children, Alyssa was invited by UNICEF in 2003 to become a national ambassador. Her first trip with the 58 year-old organization was to Angola, Africa (May 2004) to see first hand the issues plaguing the newly liberated country. Alyssa launched UNICEF’s pivotal “Trick or Treat” campaign in the fall of 2004 as an official spokesperson. In June of 2005 Alyssa traveled with UNICEF to India during the 6th month anniversary of the tsunami disaster. She visited the worst affected tsunami zones in South India to witness the relief and rehabilitation efforts. Alyssa’s trip also focused on educating & spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS, as India has the second highest infection rate in the world. Alyssa plans to work with UNICEF on numerous projects in the future, with all proceeds returning to the organization.
International relief work is not new to the actress. In August of 2002, Alyssa hosted a photography exhibition and auction in Los Angeles to raise money for charitable efforts in South Africa. An avid photographer, Alyssa displayed her own work, as well as that of school children from L.A.’s Venice Arts program. The event raised close to $50,000 for Nkosi’s Haven, an organization that runs care centers in South Africa for AIDS-afflicted mothers and children. For her efforts, Alyssa was honored with a humanitarian award from Sri Chinmoy: The Peace Meditation at the United Nations. It was this work that got the attention of UNICEF executives. Most recently The John Wayne Cancer Institute at Saint John’s Hospital and Health Center and the Associates of Breast & Prostrate Cancer Studies presented Alyssa with the 2004 Spirit of Hollywood Award which honors individuals from the entertainment industry for their personal dedication and commitment to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Alyssa also attended the 2004 Democratic National Convention on behalf of the Creative Coalition and is an avid supporter of MTV’s Rock the Vote campaign.
Alyssa Milano currently stars opposite Holly Marie Combs and Rose McGowan as a trio of modern day demon hunters on the WB’s “Charmed.” The series’ debut was the highest-rated premiere in the network’s history, and continues to be a great success for Spelling and the WB, maintaining its status as the second-highest rated program on the network. The show’s international appeal has brought it to more than 100 territories around the world, spanning Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. The witchy “Charmed” sisters have a loyal teen following and are consistently featured on the covers of the most popular young adult magazines. Individually, Alyssa has graced the covers of hundreds of magazines, appearing repeatedly on the covers of FHM, Maxim Magazine, Stuff, Cosmopolitan, and TV Guide. Stuff magazine voted her America’s No. 1 sweetheart and more recently named her the fifth most beautiful woman in the world.
Alyssa’s film credits include “Hugo Pool” co-starring Sean Penn and Robert Downey Jr., “Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star” ands she co-starred with Reese Witherspoon in the Imagine/Universal film, “Fear.” She also provided a lead voice for Disney’s recent sequel to the animated favorite “Lady and the Tramp.”
Alyssa has also signed lucrative national ad campaigns for American retailer Candies as well as telecommunications giant MCI. As MCI’s “Eva Savalot,” Milano appeared in a series of highly recognizable television and print ads for the company. She was profiled in the April 2002 issue of Emmy Magazine as a tribute to the power of branding and marketing between Hollywood celebrities and corporate America.
Alyssa built a successful Internet company (www.safesearching.com) that stands alone as the only celebrity network remaining and has an extremely strong presence on the web. Her website (www.alyssa.com) is the most popular within the network, garnering an average of 120,000 hits per month.

Holly was born on the 3rd of December 1973 to her 15 year old mother Lauralei Combs and her father who was 17. Holly's parents split, 2 years after Holly was born as they were very young and were finding marriage hard, especially with young Holly. Her parents dropped out of high school, and made ends meet as best they could. (her dad worked at a feed store and her mom got a job at the Del Mar racetrack exercising horses). Holly was born in San Diego, California but moved to Manhattan, New York when she was 8 years old where she attended Beekman Hill Elementary School. It was then when her mom decided to pursue acting for Holly. Holly's mother held down waitressing and modeling jobs to help pay the bills, while her stepfather--who married her mom when Holly was 12--worked as a bartender. All three lived with Holly's grandmother at one point. They lived in a long series of small studio apartments, never living in one place for very long. Holly says she is now a pack rat because she never had any place to keep things while she was growing up. She also blames her passion for interior decorating on her gypsy-like childhood. Instead of constantly moving, she now constantly redecorates her house. The family was so cash-strapped, they often had to live in cramped apartments. The worst was a teensy studio they lived in when Combs was a teenager. "I had a loft, and my parents' bed was underneath," Combs says. "You could only be alone in the bathroom. I don't know how we did it.". She spent four years looking for the right house to buy. "I was drawn to this house because of the beautiful land. There are no houses or anyone living behind me. There's about 30,000 acres of parkland that won't ever be built on. And that's pretty cool because I own only two and a half acres, but it looks like I have so much more that I didn't have to pay for!". The deciding factor was a large kennel for her dogs. Plus, plenty of room for her other pets. She used to keep her horses at Shannen's ranch, but now has plenty of room on her own ranch. At first, Holly's mother was living in her guest room. Holly attended the Children's Professional school where her teachers included Ernie Martin, Where other big names like Sarah Michelle Gellar studied. It was there where Holly was noticed by film and TV executives for her exceptional acting abilities. Holly's career started in television commercials and print ads when she was ten. Holly obtained her SAG (Screen Actor's Guild) card when she appeared in 'Walls of Glass' aka 'Flanagan' (1985), a film in which Holly's mother, Lauralei also had a role. Her mother was also guest star on Charmed in the episode 'Just Harried' (Episode: #3.15), 22 February 2001 as a girl in the bar. Lauralei now works as an actress and a singer and lives in Texas. Her stepfather is a musician and her biological father does machine work. Holly's big break came in 'Picket Fences' where she played 'Kimberly Brock' at the age of 18. Her first meeting with David E. Kelley did not go well. He had told Holly she didn't have enough heart to Play Kimberly on Picket Fences. "I was terribly hurt -- and angry. I thought he was just being mean", says Holly. He then ultimately decided to cast her and rewrote the character to fit Holly's personality when he was unable to find anyone who fit the part. Kelley had to convince Holly to take the part. "Suddenly, he can't find anyone else and now I'm right for the part. Sorry!" He had to keep asking Holly for a couple of weeks before she finally agreed. "I had quite an attitude going" says Holly. It was this part which made Holly into a house hold name. It was a highly successful series - the show won fourteen Emmys in four years. Holly was nominated for two SAG Awards, along with the rest of the Picket Fences cast, for best ensemble acting in a television drama. Her performance on the show earnt her Young Artist Award for Best Young Actress in a New Television Series in 1993. When the series ended, Holly then went on and starred in many other movies (see filmography). Holly is now enjoying the huge success of the TV series, 'Charmed', now in it's 6th season playing Piper Halliwell. She's also a Producer in Charmed from season 5, along with co star, Alyssa Milano.
Holly married Bryan 'Bugsy' Smith in 1993, and then divorced in 1997, afterwards Holly said they were too young to cope, just like her parents were. They only went out for 8 days before they got married. (In a Las Vegas chapel). She then dated Brian Bouma. He worked on the crew for 'Our Mother's Murder'. A few years later, she then got engaged to Storm Lyndon (who is a second grade school teacher from Venice Beach and He teaches in South Central L.A) but she called off the engagement in late 2000. They met while on a holiday in Mexico in a bar/restaurant with Charmed ex co-star and best friend, Shannen Doherty. She currently lives with her husband, David Donoho, who used to work as a Key Grip on the set of Charmed. They got married on February 14th, 2004 on valentines day. “We decided to make it about our commitment to our new family” says David, referring to the baby boy they had named Finley Arthur Donoho on April 26th, 2004. "We had kind of a deadline, so we decided to do it real quick," says Holly, "We got married at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara. Yes, I pulled a Gwyneth. I know, it wasn't original, but it was quick!"
Holly currently lives in the Bell Canyon area which is located in the San Fernando Valley in California, in a Spanish style, three bedroom house with all of her pets and husband, David.
Holly supports the charity 'Thursday's child' because she remembers herself as a troubled child, She was often mean to her mum, punished by her teachers and dressed in black. She didn't have a good time in high school. "I kind of had a problem with authority, I wasn't very outgoing. I was shy. It was a tough time for me". Nowadays Holly is a very down to earth person. Holly says she is not into the whole Hollywood scene. The simple pleasures in life suit her just fine. She is also the official spokesperson for the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. Her favorite food is Italian-"Pretty much all kinds". She also loves Cheeseburgers, Coca Krispies, Salami, and Bacon. Her Hobbies include, Horseback riding, gardening & collecting antiques. She loves to play Scrabble as well as other games like Trivial Pursuit, Beyond Balderdash, Monopoly and the Worst-Case. And she has a lot of pets! She has Three quarter horses: Jesse, Jake, and Jezebel; five dogs: (two of them are her husband’s) Hugo, Travis, Sugar, Thunder and Lola (Lola was given to her by Alyssa's mum); three cats: Blue and Selina (named after Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman) and ?; two lovebirds: Lollipop and Flower. Holly also has four rabbits, and koi fish! She did have a a turtle but she had to get rid of it when she had the baby because of a salmonella risk, so it went to a nice big pond in her friend’s backyard. She also use to have 2 physically challenged hamsters, one was very fat and one only has 3 legs. The hamsters were once classroom pets of Storm Lyndon's and they went home in the summer break. When she was younger she had a Siberian husky, named Wiley, which was given to her by Actor, Don Johnson.

BIOGRAPHY
Dan Radcliffe, born Daniel Jacob Radcliffe on July 23, 1989, is from Fulham, a suburb just inside Londontelevision productionDavid Copperfield, released in 2000. Auditioning up against hundred's of boys,, but went on to appear as "David" in the coveted Dickens classic, , England. Dan enjoys the company of two very loving, supportive parents, as well as his two dogs. Regarding school, Dan is primarily tutored on the film set. Dan knew he wanted to "act" at the age of five. He unfortunately did not land a part in "Oliver Twist", a Charles Dickens Dan was surprised to get the part which was suggested by a friend. In 2001, Dan took a small part (Mark Pendel) in John Boorman's"The Tailor of Panama." The film was released and written from John LeCarre's popular spy novel. He has a very strong admiration for "indie" music bands such as The Pixies, The Clash, and The Sex Pistols, and his taste in music has inspired many of his fans with curiosity. As his interests change, most likely he will let you know through his quarterly newsletters. Most recently his interests have included The Klaxons, The View, Tokyo Police Club, The Fratellis and more. Dan also enjoys reading very much and he also writes poetry. Although so far, we have not been blessed to have seen any of his poetry, some of the books he's read include Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie, Laughter in the Dark by Nabokov, and The Debacle by Emily Zola. He also plays the bass guitar and had practiced a lot, however, due to a very heavy film and school schedule in 2005, he admits that the guitar lessons have ceased for now. Dan also expressed an interest to learn to cook and I had the opportunity to present Dan a cookbook in person in May 2004 which was created by the fans at DanRadcliffe.co.uk. In May 2005 Dan offered his very favorite recipe to our site exclusively. Dan also states that he might like to become a Writer or Director in the future, although openly admits he hasn't written anything as of yet. He can almost always be found wearing his favorite and most cherished gadget, his iPod.
"His Charitable Contributions" Dan has supported the research of Autism, as well as terminally ill children through a number of charitable avenues. Dan's Charity of Choice is Demelza House Children's Hospice located in Sittingbourne, Kent. Demelza House has the ability to add "life to days, when days cannot be added to life" for terminally ill children. Not only does Dan support this Charity, our website, DanRadcliffe.co.uk, has created and participated in numerous fundraising activities to support Demelza House on behalf of Dan. Most recently, our site offered the ever popular elastic wristbands which are printed with both the site's name and Demelza House. The demand for the bracelets, originally inspired by Lance Armstrong's "LiveStrong" bracelets, has been overwhelming, and to date we have been able to make multiple donations to Demelza House on behalf of support and sales. The wristbands fundraiser has ceased for now. Our website's staff also very creatively raised £1129 ($2,162.06) for Demelza House through our "Pounds for Postcards" fundraiser. For every postcard which was sent in by fans, our staff donated One Pound in their name to Demelza House.
Dan also voluntarily participated in a video in May 2002, entitled "Mind Reading: the Interactive Guide to Emotion". The DVD used some well-known actors and actresses to demonstrate facial expressions and vocal sounds associated with emotions. Dan's involvement appears in the "Famous Face" section of the Games Zone where he reacts to some raw squid. Users of the software can control Dan's facial and vocal expressions with varying ranges of emotions. While the Mind Reading DVD was originally developed for special needs regarding autism spectrum conditions, we have received some emails from Special Education Teachers as well who claim that the software made vast improvements in their students as well. He also donated a lock of hair and an autograph for British Charity, Comic Relief, in 2003 which raised a modest 750 Pounds to help support deprived areas of the UK and around the world. He also put up his very special Hogwarts Crew T-Shirt which he autographed to help raise money for the Tsunami victims in 2005. His t-shirt was part of the Tsunami Celebrity Clothes Auction which raised money for the Rebuilding Sri Lanka Organization. He wore the t-shirt during the making of the film, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." These t-shirts were only issued to members of the cast and crew. His shirt raised $995 or £520. Dan also contributed his autograph along with 26 other Harry Potter cast members to an American Edition of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The book was raffled off to benefit Kamp Kiwanis, a facility for disabled, underprivileged children. "Dan's Accomplishments" Throughout Dan's career, he has received so many awards and nominations; his very first being the "Male Youth Discovery of the Year" in December 2001 at the Golden Apple Awards presented by the Hollywood Women's Press Club. Daniel was nominated by Fennecus in 2001 as well for "Juvenile Performance" for his portrayal of Harry Potter in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. He was nominated again by Fennecus in 2004 for the same award for his performance in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. He went on in February 2002 to win the Variety Club's Award for Outstanding New Talent. Since that time, Dan has been nominated and has won a variety of awards for his portrayal of Harry Potter to include "Best Performance in a Feature Film", "Best Performance by a Young Actor", and "Best Actor" categories. He has also been nominated and won a variety of other print media and magazine awards as well. DanRadcliffe.co.uk also presented Dan with an award for "Greatest Actor and Role Model" in December of 2004. It is the only award Dan has won and received on behalf of his fans and from his website which makes it very unique and special to Dan. We tried very hard to create an award which depicted an "Oscar" and after having been in contact with the Oscar Association regarding the possibility, it was decided for many reasons that the Oscar award itself couldn't be exactly replicated. We chose another award which had the same meaning, and we also received very favorable comments with respect to Dan by the Oscar Association regarding his talent. To see a range of awards and nominations dating from 2001 through 2006, please visit our website page at this link. "Dan's Involvement with DanRadcliffe.co.uk"
Our website, DanRadcliffe.co.uk, formerly known as a "cool" teenage domain DanielRadcliffeRocks.com, was created in November 2001, just after the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Inspired by the raw talent of the young, unknown actor, Daniel Radcliffe, Page Banfield, (that would be me..) the Webmaster launched the website in December 2001. At that time, there were no other websites on the internet specifically dedicated to Dan's talent or career and it is believed to be the first ever website totally dedicated to Dan on the net. My first original interest was to create a "Harry Potter" hobby website because I was addicted to the books; however, further research on the net revealed that it was already flooded with websites of interest for the overall, general topic. Therefore, it was my choice to pinpoint the talent and career of the actor himself who portrayed the Harry Potter character.
Within the first week the site was launched, it received over one million hits, thus proving that the world was ready to meet Daniel Radcliffe. As I continued my research of Dan, I was soon contacted and told that the website was well respected not only by Warner Brothers, but the Radcliffe family and Dan himself. I have been privileged to have received many messages from Dan and his father, Alan requesting us to publish very important information on their behalf. Such messages would include settling a concerning rumor, or letting fans know that Dan never chats on the internet. We have also been given the opportunity to connect Dan with his fans through a menagerie of avenues such as "sneak peeks" into his quarterly newsletters, Christmas cards, and much, much more. Warner Brothers has "delightfully" surprised me with event tickets which have allowed not only me, but members of our staff to attend Harry Potter events in a "media" capacity thus capturing those events on camera as well as capturing interviews with Dan. I have also had the pleasure of attending film premieres.
I, myself, have had the privilege of interviewing Dan both in person and by phone on five occasions which I am completely grateful for. I know I am a very lucky person to have Dan himself, and his family support the work we do here and they realize that we make good, solid judgments concerning our news. We also respect his privacy and integrity and we believe that is the very reason we have his support. In 2007, the amount of professional inquiries that we received regarding charitable contributions, interview and appearance requests increased dramatically after Dan's appearance in EQUUS. For that reason we reconstructed and reorganized our website's layout to depict more of an official look expected of a professional actor/artist. The organization of the website is much more clean and concise with precise and accurate news and information.
