Unbelievable the guy died and so a normal cause!
C'mon seriously you didn't half expect: 'NEWS FLASH - Micheal Jackson's face melts off!' rather than dies of caridac arrest at the age of 50.
People say it could of been suicide and a way to get easy money for the banks who he owes a lot of debt to...I mean with getting life insurance recently too.
I have to admit I found out way before a lot of people as I was watching the news but I really wasn't suprised, I was more tramatised by Princess Diana dying...don't get me wrong I think MJ is a legend among muscians and his music will never be forgotten as well as his bizarre rituals. Since the media have tainted his image so much i fell like it was a needed escape for the poor guy.
Hopefully all those poor saps who bought tickets yo his 50 tour dates at the O2 arena in Greenwich will get their money back - I feel sorry for the ones who bought them from ticket touts for £300 of more. That's gotta hurt.
Also on a lighter note I can officially sub edit & edit! Yaay, I'm glag I'm picking things up from work
i can't wait to teach others so i can do less and they can do more. Hell Yeah!
A few weeks a go I was all hyped up to go to Suzu and gossip about the 'MCM London Expo' (i met Tony Curtis - yah hah the guy is still alive and in a wheel chair) to the Suzu dudes but low and behold! The shop had shut down and allt hat remained was the website address and a somber note saying that:
'Due to unforseen circumstances, Suzu had to relocate to North London as a concession stand but will be back to the Fitzrova region in the future.'
which translates to:
'Buisness was pants and made a bit of money due to our only customer Nahga but it was fun while it lasted visit us in north London or we'll cry!'
Seriously that place was a haven to me - i looked forward to going there now all I have is a bench in a pidgeon poopin g zone ![]()
Hair update: need a haircut - have had one in 3 months - I've decided to go cold turkey on dying though i t's going to thin my hair out in the long run. Maybe I'll experiment with Henna?
So near my office, there's this sushi bar where one of my ex-co worker slag fest wannabe muslim friend told me about. I totally disregarded it at first since I know she's got expensive taste and i know she'd eat a £30 meal and still be hungry after but not say it cause it was all about the 'ambiance' well you can kiss my ambiance ass thank you very much.
However a while a go late Jan I wondered in looking at the 'New Year Sale' and boy do they have reasonably priced bento boxes!
Well anyways they had flyers for a quiz night and I obviously investigated when i saw 'Ghibli' in bold.
It was fate I tell you. So it was friday 20/03/09 at Suzu from 6-9pm and there were prizes involved:
o Cosplay Attire
o DVDs
o Soundtracks
o models
o Games and many more...
I was in it for the Cosplay! I managed to get that day off though I knew the boss would be moaning how everything went wrong without me "we need you to kick start the week and help wrap things up, so mondays & Fridays we need you here compulsary." What a jip, i don't even get paid.
I didn't expect to win since (no offence) there were a lot of Japanese people in the quiz and they know there Ghibli very well. Plus this annoying table of mature/old wananbee's next to us harping on about getting extra points and they hogged all the tables. Even theis guy was loitering around for ages till a table cleared up - he looked alot like Syed from Lost. Then he snapped up a huge table whilst me and Taffy were debating the ingrediants of her salad vinigerette.
need to get there early to secure sitting space, but we managed to nick a table from outside and sat next to the cute dudes asking the questions. I think there were about 60 questions, 30 were devised by the brunette posh guy and 30 by the managers 6 year old daughter. Let me tell you this 6year old has a sharp and dangerous mind - "In Pompoco, what are the racoons favourite food?' What do eman favourite, they're stuffing there faces all the times? Trick question maybe? I put Sake. Anyways Taffy got 8th and Syed from Lost got 5th. 1-5 got prizes, Winner got a pick of 3 items from the goody bag. and rest got one. I wanted the Ghibli Soundtrack and was heart broken to see it get taken first of all. The annoying oldies came third which infuriated me even more as they got the Porco Rosso DVD I wanted.
Needless to say yours truley came 4th (my lucky number as well) and I picked the princess Monoke dvd. I got joint 4th so me and Deborah picked fromt he remaining 3 dvds (Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Monoke & Graveyard of firelies). I already got Howl's moving castle and Graveyard of Fireflies is too depressing, it would make a grown skinhead cry!
So with much annoyance, silly answers and random spouts of cheating it was a lovely eveing with my mates, Shrimpo-nator brought me the Ouran Host Club dvd part 1 box set to borrow too so I was winning on all aspects. the chicken dumpling sushi box was awesome too. Hmmmm sushi!
